Why do sellers who are not TSR's with worse DSR's and fewer recent sales coming up above me in search?

Look up Dallas Cowboys fleece blanket, Item # 400073291553 has two recent sales since September 17th, he has worse DSR's than me and he is not a TSR.

I have three much more recent sales since September 30th, I am a TSR and I have much better DSR's than they do and my item # 380163170551 comes up at #25. How is it that I beat him in DSR's, I'm a TSR and I have better recent sales and he's #2 and I'm #25?

One hour is simply not long enough for this discussion.

Exactly who, if they can't find it here, even though it is here, because they clicked on the TRS search criteria and do not know to click it back off to see ALL listings, they will find it elsewhere.

A system that values the opinion of 1 person over 198 other people is a flawed system.

Brian and Dawn, I hope that the major points brought up on this discussion will be seen by the higher ups.

If it is hurting our sales and searchability, the bottom line is it will also affect ebays profit.

And will this be brought up to the shareholders?

"eBay is evaluated by our users using a subjective measure - subjectivity doesn't make it less valuable or accurate. "

How about using the Net Promoter program to see how the other half of your customers (the sellers) feel?

I've been a PS out here for most all the years I've sold on Ebay. I'm mostly a gift oriented/holiday sales business, so I desperately need these upcoming holiday months. Every year my summer months income dips down to the dead zone, and this August was the first time I dropped just a few dollars short of holding onto my PS status. My DSRs and track record have been excellent as many others out here. COME ON NOW--for just a few dollars you strip me of the PS badge, and then say don't worry-you'll get the new TSR. I blinked and missed that too, and now like most here, Ebay is throwing me to the bottom of the heap. Tell me how is that rewarding the good sellers? I've already got my income back up now, but how long do we wait to get our status back???

...."Our intent is to promote our best performing sellers. And the program is designed to do just that."

That's not what it looks like to me. I think you better redesign it because all you are doing is chopping the heads off more good sellers and driving more away.

But we were supposed to be invited to be a powerseller before the program started, (with the $3000 qualification). That's the whole point that people are trying to make.

This was clearly the impression the eBay meant to leave. Brian has yet to clearly respond to which qualifications level of Powerseller need to be met.

Ambiguity.

Feismomnj,

Yes. Qualification for Top-rated will be re-assessed each month. Sellers who do not meet the standard will no longer be Top-rated and will not receive the benefits of Top-rated – this is very similar to what we used to do with PowerSeller.

The biggest difference is we now align the Feedback (DSRs) received with the actual transactions.

Thanks.

Brian

So by the time my December rating fall off it will be too late for me to recover.

How is this system with anonymous rating help any one?

Ok but 2 of my low ratings were left last December by a few buyers who purchased waited a few days before paying, and did not receive their items before Christmas. I had put in my ads that purchases paid for by Dec 19th would arrive before Christmas the USPS was at that time was telling me due to volume priority packages were taking up to 5 days to arrive.

Is there going to be a policy regarding use of the Top Seller logo badge?

Is there a policy regarding use of the powerseller logo? Now that it is being removed from the pages, will sellers still be allowed to use it in their listing.

thanks

Hi dorothysew! No, Net Promotoer Score is not something else you need to aspire to. It was referred to by a posting by blu regarding purely speculative information in Auctionbytes. Thanks!
Thanks Bennie.... just so I'm clear.... there is no testing going on....an auctionbytes, http://bit.ly/bbtPi who notes it is being tested and more in Oct..... Just false info? thanks ___ blu

Hi blazebird!
For this very reason we changed our focus to avoiding 1's and 2's as opposed to trying to get all 5's. We've found that when buyers leave a 1 or 2, they are clearly indicating that something went wrong while we could not differentiate between a buyer's satisfaction with leaving either a 4 or a 5.
Thanks!

Hi blukentucky!
The speculation I was referring to was holding sellers accountable for NPS data. We are not doing this. Concern testing different forms of feedback, yes, we have and will continue to look for was to improve our current system.
Thanks!

All,

Thanks for comments and input. The thread is closing but we will respond to unanswered questions (those that we didn’t already answer, not each question) over the next day or so.

Please also continue to provide input on the Top-rated program in the months ahead. Our goal is to ensure buyers have great experiences, we know that is also your goal.

Look forward to hearing from you in the future.

Thanks

Brian

golfingaddict,

Only eBay may use the Top-rated seller badge.

Sellers should never use it in their listings, Store, About Me, etc.

Please see the selling practices policy for rules sellers should follow.

Thanks.
