BOTTLE,JAR,& STONEWARE COLLECTOR'S CORNER #2

Hello everyone. This thread is a continuation of the "Bottle & Stoneware Collector's Corner". It has almost 4800 posts and was getting hard to navigate...posts loaded slowly, etc...so us "Regs" decided to begin an all new thread. Ebay is going to lock the old thread and re-connect the other board links to this thread. Hopefully that will be soon.

HI all!

I was steered to this discussion from the Pottery board... I hope someone can help me!

Hi all! My husband found these in an old building before it was demolished. I wonder if anyone can tell me anything about them? Thank you in advance!

Bottle #1: About 9.5" tall, dark green, indentation in base

Bottle #2: About 7" tall with corroded cork and metal clasp. Clear aqua color. Says "Henry Wensel Covington KY"

Bottle #3: About 7.25" tall, metal clasp, aqua color. Says "Best & Lothes Mineral Water CIn O"

Bottle #4: About 7.5" tall, clear glass, "F" on the bottom. Says "L. Fritz M. & S. W. Co. Cov KY Capacity 7 Fluid Oz."

Thank you for taking the time!
~ Nicole

Nicole, I did a bit of research for you while we wait for the *ones who know*. From my research #3 is a mineral water bottle from Cincinnati, OH, c.1870 and #2 Wenzel & #4 Fritz are soda bottles from Covington, KY. but I haven't found a date for them yet.

NPI...hope Dennis passes you by. Stay under cover.

NICOLE..
1st bottle... blown in a 3 piece mold. Bottom has what is called a "kick-up." Circa 1880-1900...minimal value due to it being common and has no embossing.

2nd bottle....circa 1880-1890...value about $20 as is. If it cleans up nicely maybe $35.00+.

3rd bottle...same for this one.

4th bottle...looks like it is machine made from 1910-20 era...value about $15.00.

These values aren't "locked in" and are based upon similar bottles I have seen.....many factors can influence the final selling price, especially on Ebay.
