Just 5 days left... and goodbye blogs

Just 5 days left and it's goodbye to eBay blogs. I got lots of sales from using the blogs over the years. So this may effect my artwork sales. Most of the bloggers are moving to multiply.com. Still it won't be the same. I'm glad I always deleted my blog posts instead of building it up in hopes of it helping sales. Then I would be really disappointed with eBay.

(First, let me declare my bias as I am professionally involved with this topic so take what I am saying here with the proverbial grain of salt.)

A blog is one of the best things you can have to promote your sales whether your listings are here on eBay or any other selling venue.

Every person attempting to build a successful business should have their own domain name and website. Having a blog integrated with that website is a very good thing.

Since eBay is closing down blogs, and if you have been writing one, you really should consider making the step to your own website with blog. This kind of site is easy to maintain and provides a great base from which to build your business and project your online identity.

There are a lot of good sources for this kind of website so shop around. Be sure you understand what features a site offers and what those features mean in the process of promoting your business.

It's easy to have your own blog within your website and use it all to maximize your selling potential. The key is to unify everything to make it a place where customers go first then can choose their venue. Check out my site to get some ideas to apply to your own site. (shawnaerback.com)

I still find myself clicking on community and looking for the blogs then I remember they aren't there anymore.

Actually I did not know the blogs were closed down till I read this post. That is surprising me. Eventhough I did not sell yet anything, blog posts were helping me to increase traffic on my items. Nevermind. How can I promote new items I had posted?

I found that I got a lot of hits on my ebay listings whenever I did a blog post and now all of my blog fans are gone with the removal of ebay blogs, think my sales are abou to suffer...

Since they eradicated mine along with everyone elses on Oct 31st I decided to open one at Blogger...I think really like this one better as it allows you to do so much more with the widgets and applications including a talking avatar!

I used to blog on eBay, but found that it didn't really bring me any sales...I have a blog on blogger, but hardly ever use it.

I have gotten a few sales on Facebook...

I think what will be missed most is the social aspect of the eBay blogs. Just as there were/are a group of us who "hang out" here, there were "regulars" on the blogs. Sometimes things got waaaayyy out of hand there. Anyone remember the time a bunch of bloggers came over to A&A to defend the honor of Kenny (of clownface fame?) It was a "war"...back when pink slaps were much less frequent, and things could get very heated.

I have to change my siggie now...it used to be when you clicked on it, it would take you directly to my eBay blog. Now it just takes you to a "page not found" announcement.

All of the regular bloggers took their blogging to Multiply.com There are some eBay groups for posting listings.

I remember that war. I think Kenny had trouble with a customer and closed his account a couple years ago. He's still one of my myspace friends but we haven't kept in touch since he left eBay.

I mean eBay groups on multiply. They're doing their regular spamming there. I post new artwork when I get it done.
