they got ready to retire a few years ago and went to cash in their art, yes all of it was fake they had wasted over 40 grand on copies. they are now two bitter people living on ss, their dream of traveling around the world gone.

That's a sad story and it probably happens more often than we know.

thank you highly, for posting the art website. like ms pat says you are the man who is most respected here.

we have friends who own a few of the imposter paintings/copies and paid big bucks for them in the 1970's/80's. they got into going to art auctions in wash d.c. neither of them knew squat about art, but these were sold as real coa's and all. well they got ready to retire a few years ago and went to cash in their art, yes all of it was fake they had wasted over 40 grand on copies. they are now two bitter people living on ss, their dream of traveling around the world gone.

it happened with the dot coms , it happened with the real estate, it happens with a lot of other things in life, and I attrib it to greed.

I swear you are just a store house full of artistic information, we are lucky to have you on these boards, and was wondering if you could clarify something for me, image after all these years of working under the impression that CNC machines were used in the manufacture and the processing of metal, now where I got that idea from I rightly do not recollect, could you set me straight, again thank you in helping me wade through a puddle of mud.

A CNC can shape or carve (to name a few of there processes)from just about any material. Duck calls and decoys, made out of wood are from them, Molds for just about anything are made from them, wood blocks for printing are made from them, and list goes on and on.

From a photo and a few measurements the CNC computer will recognize it and duplicate it. They are so sensitive now that they can be exact to the micro.

Anything else?

Thank you for helping me wade through a sea of mud and have gained a better understanding of a machine one knows little to nothing about, it all makes sense to me now, thank you for the enlightenment , yet I still do not have a good grasp on how a CNC would make a work of art such as a fake oil painting, does it carve it out of the canvas fist and then spray paint the picture, or does it use brushes dipped in paint,, how are the colors mixed and applied to the canvas using one of these machines, thanks in advance for the answer and will be anxiously be awaiting more knowledge from you, thanks again, deep.

Not naming names or anything but my post was reported and therefore we have no link to go see who the winner was do we?

who has all the personel information then, and are there any safe guards as to who has access to the information?

google CNC and get out your checkbook for about $400,000 for a good one.

why in the world would you modify a CNC machine for print operation when you have idustrial grade machines that are designed to make poster, prints, etc, sorry but it just doesn't add up.

I have one of these prints (white clown, small pierrot) that my father bought in the late 50's or early 60's. I love the piece and know it's a print, and have never considered it part of my retirement program.

I was worried that it might not even be a print of an original because it hasn't been reproduced lately. They are hard to find.

Thanks for the links and info.
