I swear you are just a store house full of artistic information, we are lucky to have you on these boards, and was wondering if you could clarify something for me, image after all these years of working under the impression that CNC machines were used in the manufacture and the processing of metal, now where I got that idea from I rightly do not recollect, could you set me straight, again thank you in helping me wade through a puddle of mud. A CNC can shape or carve (to name a few of there processes)from just about any material. Duck calls and decoys, made out of wood are from them, Molds for just about anything are made from them, wood blocks for printing are made from them, and list goes on and on.
From a photo and a few measurements the CNC computer will recognize it and duplicate it. They are so sensitive now that they can be exact to the micro.
Anything else?

Thank you for helping me wade through a sea of mud and have gained a better understanding of a machine one knows little to nothing about, it all makes sense to me now, thank you for the enlightenment , yet I still do not have a good grasp on how a CNC would make a work of art such as a fake oil painting, does it carve it out of the canvas fist and then spray paint the picture, or does it use brushes dipped in paint,, how are the colors mixed and applied to the canvas using one of these machines, thanks in advance for the answer and will be anxiously be awaiting more knowledge from you, thanks again, deep.
