Plus the book was nearly fully written but still in the form of notes when Robert Jordan passed away so Sanderson built off the story that Jordan had already compiled. It's my understanding that some entire passages were penned by Jordan, but that other chapters offered only a single sentence for direction as to what was the main idea of the chapter. (I know he left notes and voice recordings and that Harriet was familiar with the end). This is specifically what bothers me; I know the ideas are Jordan's, but the writing will not be, at many many points throughout. That's what I will miss so much - his specific writing style. It's just very sad to me that he wasn't able to complete these books.
Apparently He could not finish the series with just one book so there are another 2 to follow this again. Yeah. that's another thing that had everyone riled up. Jordan had promised repeatedly to make "one last book", no matter how large it was, etc. Now to turn it into 3 spaced apart like this makes me suspicious of the publisher's intent, like since Jordan is gone they want to milk the cash cow one more time. But maybe I'm just cynical
It's a wonderful series, a little bumpy around books 8-10 IMO, but one of the best series I've ever read. So I hope the new one lives up to that standard.
