FINISHED Reading Harry Potter?

Jun 26, 2003 12:28 PM
Note: If this thread gets off the ground, there are likely to be SPOILERS in here so don't read if you don't want to know what happened in the book!

Well, I stayed up until 1:30 a.m. last night to finish Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - it was so good!

Anyone else finished with it yet...??? what did you think?!

I'm glad it didn't have quite the unfinished ending as Book IV, now waiting for the next book won't be quite so annoying... but I know it will be a l-o-n-g wait!

Anyway... what are your thoughts on it???

Neither Grandkids, family members, nor cats are allowed in my sewing room. I have so much fabric stashed and piled up, there are a LOT of places to hide things. :) I've already got some fun "G-Force" toys stashed in there and some DVD's for the grownups. I'm about half done with Christmas now. I have a couple of blankies to put together, but we have so many dang birthdays between now and Christmas, that's what kills me.

DIL Nov. 11
Kitten (faux grand daughter) Nov. 14
Elmo Nov. 21
Da Tank Dec. 12
My sister Dec. 15
My SIL Dec. 16
My BIL Dec. 18

I THINK that's everyone. I think I'm missing a FIL or BIL in November sometime...sheesh.

No luck with the camera. We've tried everything. Both tired of arguing our point. Hasn't done any good. Camera's not as good as it should be anyway. You know technology. Buy it today, tomorrow it's outdated and antiquated.

Sometimes I know what you mean, Fredi! I have spells when I want to stretch out in a bed all by myself. Most of the time I'm a snuggler...for a while anyway. We each roll to our own side of the bed. It's funny -when we first got married he slept on the right side and I slept on the left side. Sometime down the road we ended up switching sides. Weird. I can't really remember why or when. 0_o

Having a birthday close to Christmas sucks. Mine's January 7, so I'm not exactly a Christmas baby, but it's still close enough that I can't count the times people got me gifts (when I was little even) and told me they were combined for both. How fair is that? I swore I'd never do that to my kids and sure enough DS was born in November.

nic, i guess you might as well buy a replacement one here on ebay...

lol fredi :^O I've compromised...I sleep on my side, hubby sleeps on his...on occassion he can sleep at the couch/bed in the living room...which he does, but then asks why i didnt call him in to bed :^O...I'm just following the signs... :^O

it sucks when people roll up your birthday with christmas,lol...it just makes the person giving look really cheap... (if you're going to do that, your better off not giving anything at all)

Clem, If all goes well (no one is sick) the clan is coming to New York on Saturday. I think we are planning to get off the bus at Battery Park.

I have asked everyone where they would like to go. No one cares of course. My MIL wants to go to Macy's (that's easy the bus is only picking up at Macy's for the return trip). Oldest ds wants to go to Toys R Us (he's 15 1/2). The rest of list is all food related. I have been pouring over maps and am so confussed it's not funny, doens't help that I'm directionally challenged. I tried looking at the subway map, got scared and closed it real quick.

If you can't meet that's alright, I have no idea what our time line is or anything. But if you have any ideas of fun family things (that don't cost much) to do let me know.

Molly

Yeah "Hankies!" (That's what Elmo calls them!)

Here's the survey from e-mail...easier this way!

> A few more questions:
>
>
>
> 1. Would you prefer small gifts or does size really matter?
> (how big is too big?)
>
Size doesn't matter, it's the thought that counts!
>
> 2. Knick-knacks like decorations, useful items, edible
> items(candy), or any of these?
>
I LIVE for knick-knacks, especially any with an HP theme. Not so much excited over useful or edible.
>
> 3. Any special requests for your HPSS? What would you love
> to receive(whether you actually expect it or not-it's
> okay to be unreasonable) Use your imagination!
>
HP Calendar(s) ;)
>
> 4. Any characters you simply detest and would NOT like to
> receive gifts from or about?
>
Hey, if it scares me too bad this time, I just may re-gift it next year (depending on the victim of course!)
>
> 5. What other hobbies do you enjoy besides reading?
>
Sewing, sewing, and oh ya, sewing! I also garden when I'm not sewing and I'm totally addicted to video poker at the casinos.
>
> 6. What are some pet peeves you have?
>
I do not like mean people. That's about it.
>
> 7. Favorite animal? real or supernatural
>
Horse real, werewolf supernatural
>
> 8. If you authored a book that could be found in a wizard
> library, what would your pen name be?
>
I don't write good enough to author anything. I suppose I could put together "Quilting for Quiddich Games by Suzi Pins" or something like that.
>
> 9. Head in the clouds or firmly rooted to reality?
>
Half and half. Depends on which is more interesting at the time.
>
> 10. What magical spell/charm would you "create"
> yourself? Write your own spell:
>
hmmmm, how 'bout a long-arm quilting spell. "Stitches Quiltatonomous" might work with just the right wand moves.
