BEWARE OF SELLER: DRUAT!!!
Mar 21, 2012 11:58 AM

This seller lists under Business & Industrial.

I purchased a dental chair from this seller on January 13, 2012 for $608.00 with free shipping. It is now March 21, 2012 and I still have not received it! In the beginning, I was just waiting for it to arrive. It was listed as being in Canada so I figured that when the seller stated in his listing that it would take 7 to 10 days that he knew what he was talking about. After a couple of weeks passed and the item had still not arrived, I attempted to contact the seller. After several days, he finally got back to me and blamed the delay on the Christmas holidays and the Chinese New Year. In the same email he stated that the chair had shipped on January 13th and also January 24th. Obviously I took notice and questioned why the Chinese New Year would affect delivery from Canada since that is where it was supposed to be. I never received a reply. Then on February 8th, I sent a request for tracking information. Three days later, I get that it would be supplied in 1 to 2 days. Well that didn't happen. Then on February 14th, he requested our importer number. For those who may not know, you do not need an importer number if an item comes from Canada!! I provided the information he needed and never heard back. I was unable to get back to this issue until March 3rd when I requested tracking information again. His reply came the next day but after exhausting every delivery company was unable to validate the numbers that he provided. When I questioned him (via email) about this, he referred me to a BL that I didn't have and a shipping agency that he had not provided me the information on (you know, things like a name, phone number or address). After becoming more and more frustrated with the lack of assistance this seller was providing, I contacted Ebay only to learn that it was past the 45 day deadline and they would not assist me in this matter. I am still trying to deal with getting this item. It is currently on a ship from Hong Kong that is scheduled to arrive in Los Angelos on the 23rd. It is then supposed to be sent to Houston where it still has to clear customs. I have to pay a forwarding company in LA, US Customs and the warehouse in Houston plus take time out of my already exhausting schedule to make all this happen. I originally purchased this item because it was listed as being in Canada since I didn't want to deal with importing duties and all that mess. Unfortunately, I am dealing with it anyway!!!

This seller has since sold more of these units and increased the price along the way. One buyer was lucky to have gotten a refund from him without notice but another has not even been able to contact him after paying. Why does Ebay still allow this crook to sell?

Even if you have to pay a little more for the exact same thing.... DO NOT BUY FROM DRUAT!!!! You will regret it!!!

How did you pay for it? If you used a credit card, get on the phone with your credit card company and see if you can file a claim.

Then get on the phone with eBay and PayPal. You could also post a question on the Trust and Safety board--lot's of help available there. Do not identify the seller's name in your post.

Supplying you with fake shipping numbers is certainly evidence of a fraudulent act, and doing so using email would constitute wire fraud, which is a federal offense. See about filing a complaint.

You need to spend some time acquainting yourself with eBay and PayPal rules, particularly their time limits on filing complaints. Any time you pay for an item and don't get timely delivery or the shipper doesn't supply valid tracking information it should raise a red flag and prompt you to take action to protect yourself.
