See the discussion under town square_>discussion_> Beware e-proauction software. It is the same story everywhere.
You are billed $34.95 way before you get the CD that cost you $4.55. Then, if you didn't notice the "Tekmeds" offer hidden inside, you are billed $29.95 for that. I did notice Tekmeds, cancelled it right away and got a confirmation email of cancellation. When e-pro tried to charge me $34.95, I didn't have any money in the bank that day and the bank declined it.
The email fron e-proauction,stating that the bank had declined the charge, let me know I was in for a problem. I received that email the DAY I got the CD in the mail.
I called them, left several messages (due to their hold time) and sent an email to cancel. I actually sent a very detailed email and their response via email to me was "Is there something we can help you with?." ?????.....
I called back, waited on hold and got a live person. I was told that everything was cancelled. I would get no more charges from them.
I do get another charge though....$4.25 for an email newsletter, weeks later. I call them back again and they absolutely refuse to refund the $4.25. At that time, I had never seen an email newsletter from them. I even speak to a supervisor and state this was already cancelled and I haven't received a newsletter. The supervisor states that:
"
We have software that tells us you opened the email." ????? I tell them I may have deleted apam from them without opening it after I cancelled. Apparently, he says the deleteing "causes their software to think I read it and I should have read it and unsubsctibed." I tell them I really would have received the newsletter and it goes from not ordered/not received to not ordered/received.
There is someone on the discussion board I noted who did receive a refund for the newsletter-or at least was told by e-pro they would. There is even a user on there that states EBAY CUSTOMER SERVICE DON'T KNOW WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE, after they emailed 'fraud' on Ebay. Apparently at E bay, ONE HAND DOESN'T KNOW WHAT THE OTHER IS DOING. Since, it appears from this discussion, E-Bay does know who these people are and hadnily lists them somewhere. I can't rate them though, I have to have FB of 50 to rate them. Maybe, E-Bay, I will wait 50 days before I list anything on ebay or buy anything on E-Bay. Maybe within 50 days, E Bay will have investigated these people.
I have filed a complaint with the BBB in Utah (where e-proauction is), the internet fraud center and the FTC.
