This was in my late uncles tool box, he was a mold maker and model maker, had some wonderful tools, most of which I can ID, but this one has me stumped. Marked Brown and Sharpe 250, any suggestions?

this is a vintage browne and sharp inside micrometer.....model 250 meaning minimum inside reading is .250.......i have one identical to that :)
