KUBOTA TRACTOR SCAM

If you are in the market for a Kubota Tractor or any other tractor for that matter BEWARE! There is a person/persons listing bogus tractors for sale with "Buy It Now" and pre-approved bidders list. Seller usually requests that you contact them through an alternate email address because there is a problem with their ebay email. Once you contact this person they give you some phoney info and send a fake ebay invoice requesting money by sent by Western Union. DO NOT FALL FOR IT! There is no tractor and your money is gone. Most of these listings are 1 or 3 days and I have seen several from Canada. They also offer free shipping and guaranteed refund.

As of today, there are still several of these listings. I just reported 7 of these to the security center. I contacted one several days ago, and was told the tractor was in Switzerland, and that it would be air freighted and delivered to my door. Unfortunately, there are people who will fall for this scam.

You HAVE to be kidding. How do they manage to turn the computer on and get to Ebay to bid in the first place? Serious lack of grey matter there.

Well, to give everyone a good laugh, we just fell for it. This guy took us for 3,000.00. My husband talked to this guy for over a week about it. He sent us paperwork from ebay with the copyright and everything on it showing that he was a power seller and that ebay had an account set up with him so that if anything was wrong they would issue a refund. We have a letter from ebay saying that the transaction is secure and a tracking number from a legit shipping company. Boy, were we stupid. I buy and sell on ebay all the time (even bought a car) and have never had a problem. I wish that I had seen this message about it before we played into his hands. Oh well, he is now 3,000.00 richer and we will be paying a year loan for an invisible tractor in our back yard.

Since you have/had a transaction, will you post the auction # so we can be "forewarned" of this seller's ID?

And is it possible yours really is a legitimate deal and your tractor will show up? Oh I hope I hope I hope *fingers crossed*

Not the local police but we did report it to the Internet Crimes Investigation Unit. My husband also reported it to ebay but the response he got from them was a generalized response about how to be careful. The seller is supposed to be from Italy. He states that he just moved there from the US. Italy is where we wired the money to and of course he picked it up within an hour of it getting there. We have his supposed address and everything. Of course he will not answer any emails anymore now that he has his money and I send him emails everyday.

Rorokoz, please do not post any email addys on the board. It could earn you a stern email from Ebay.

As for your problem, please go post it on the Trust and Safety board. There are many regulars there who assist people with these problems every day. If there is anything to be done, they will know what it is. Just explain the entire situation (without including the scammer's personal info). If they request it, you may email the info to them.

I hope there is some way to get this worked out for you! Good luck!
