This is my third time posting about Ebay Bucks. I still love it and still have not encountered a single problem with it. I have acquired anywhere from a few dollars to over twenty at quarters end. More than enough to find something virtually for "free"!! I have not had any problems redeeming the bucks and if I don't want to use them for a certain purchase I simply choose to not use them on a particular item and it removes it and saves it for later. No problems whatsoever for me so far. I love it.

I have been a buyer for over 2 years now. I was unsure about the "eBay Bucks" but a couple days ago decided to sign up for it. It now shows on my Ebay Summary page " under "Buy". Is that all I have to do? And is it the same as the program you are talking about here?

i have tried unsuccessfully to use my ebay bucks for the last three days of buying. i am a seller too and do NOT have any holds whatsoever on my paypal account...but it does not let me use the code provided by ebay. this is a repeatable error in the test.
very disappointed! Never look down upon someone unless you are helping them up...

I just received this message and am confused... "Please note that the VIP pilot will be coming to an end early, on January 31, 2011. However, don't worry, the eBay Bucks Rewards Program will continue and you will continue to earn eBay Bucks on all qualifying purchases*. We appreciate your assistance in testing our new features and look forward to bringing you more ways to earn. Warm regards, The eBay Bucks team" Why is this program coming to an end? I really enjoyed the double eBay Bucks program! Are you just dropping me, or are you dropping the complete program? Do I need to buy more to qualify? Please advise. jun1264

Hi. Similarly to trink159, I also have a 100% feedback rating and have been an eBayer for over 7 years. I am signed up for eBay bucks as a buyer and do see eBay bucks being offered on my items. However, today there is a "special offer" for triple rewards and one of my items that ends today does not offer the triple rewards while other sellers selling the same item do offer it. I contacted eBay support through chat regarding this issue and they informed me that sellers are selected at random for this. I am absolutely appalled that this is how they are selecting sellers as it undercuts my items for no reason by as much as 10 to 12 dollars.

1. A measly two percent. 2. A measly two percent in eBay gift certificates. 3. A measly two percent in eBay gift certificates good only on eBay. 4. A measly two percent in eBay gift certificates good only on eBay that expire in thirty days. No thank you. I'll just stay away from eBay as I have for many months.

I have been selling for 7 years and feel I should be able to offer ebay bucks to increase sales. I was told at online help that you pick sellers randomly. Tat is very arbitrary and unfair.

I received a call this morning that I have six-something dollars in my eBay Bucks account and that I have until I believe midnight Monday to spend them. When I went to see the actual balance on my eBay page, there was no Bucks icon to click on to see my balance. Does this mean that even though I have a balance I still have to enroll in the program? Thanks.

For those of us who make few purchases on eBay, the eBay Bucks idea is not beneficial because the Bucks have an expiration date.It would be better if the Certificates expired either every 6 months or every year. For example, buyers would accumulate more Bucks in preparation for the Christmas holidays. Ever think of that? Frankly, Amazon.com has a lot of good deals with which eBay sellers just can't compete. But that is largely dependent on the product.

It appears that Ebay bucks is funny money with our pay pal account being charged for what Ebay bucks was suppose to pay for. Are you looking at the summary page of all your transactions or the transaction details page? The summary page shows the total amount but if you click on the details page, it shows the Ebay Bucks amount separately.

@alex021902 Your eBay Bucks balance summary from the current earn period is visible in the "eBay Bucks" section under "Buy" within My eBay. When you click on "eBay Bucks" you see the Rewards Center page with more information. There, at the bottom of the page, is a box called "Activity" that shows the items and eBay Bucks from the current period in detail. There is also a dropdown in that section to see the details from previous earn periods. Please note that eBay Bucks from the previous period were converted into a Certificate to spend now in the Redemption period, but they are not included in the current Earn period balance. The Certificate can be seen on the right side of the page. Btw - the current Redemption period ends August 2nd. I hope that the additional information helps to resolve your issue. Frank, eBay Bucks team

Until this problem, I also had no problems at all. And, like anyting else, there is only a problem when there is a problem! I just found where the eBay Buyer Protection Terms ALLOW eBay to "fix any processing errors"...by "METHOD USED"....see below the excerpt from their policy page: Correcting Mistakes in Payments to Buyers or SellersWe reserve the right to fix any processing errors we discover. We will correct any processing errors by debiting or crediting the payment method used for the erroneous eBay Buyer Protection refund or reimbursement.

I have been using Ebay Bucks since last fall without any problems at all. I just logged into my Ebay account and have noticed my Ebay Bucks is suddenly gone. Can someone help explain this to me? I would like to still be included in the program. Cheryl from what I can see you the main person monitoring this board. Feel free to contact me via a message on Ebay if you can offer me some help with this situation. It was working this morning 7-21-10 but as of 7pm est it is no longer appearing. Thanks

I was invited for this program. I have earned and used the eBay Bucks certificates. Up until July, I was generally pleased and used it modestly. However, I am now completely convinced that the pilot program has a LONG WAY TO GO to work across the entire site. So here is the skinny: I bought a software item that was counterfeit with $180 credit card and $20 eBay Bucks. I opened a claim via eBay and they refunded $200 to my PayPal balance. Not exactly ideal, since that is not how I paid for it. So, I call Moron Central,Philippines, to find out how to get the refund transaction corrected to refund the eBay Bucks and the $180 credit card charge. Well, after calling Mr. Einstein PayPal and Mrs. Einstein Ebay in Moron Central, Philippines, for 4 days this week, at 2-3 hours plus each attempt, and continuously REPEATING every friggin' thing I said six ways to Sunday, I finally was transferred to an U.S. eBay Customer Service Rep. today. This was quite an achievement because every time I called PayPal, they said it was an eBay issue, and vice-versa. An eternal moronic hell! In addition, they cannot transfer you to a U.S. rep and there is no direct U.S. number you can call. But I finally had a U.S. rep on the phone and thought I was doing good just to get there, until she told me there was nothing that could be done. She could give me a $10 courtesy coupon, but no more. So, I asked, "you mean to tell me that you do not refund the same method of payment when eBay Bucks are used?" She said, that's right. So I told her that was absolutely INSANE. What is the point of having a Buying Reward program that is punitive in the event a refund or dispute occurs. I then asked if she could just reverse the refund and process it anew correctly. After all it took just to get through to someone who actually comprehended English, I knew it was too much to ask, but I did anyway. To no surprise, that, too, was impossible. Call me stupid, but generally speaking when I pay cash, I expect a cash refund and when I pay credit card, I expect a credit card debit/refund. So, this little transaction has cost me! I have been paying interest on a $180 charge since July 7th, mistakenly believing that the refund would be applied the same way the purchase was made. Although, the U.S. rep pointed out that I had $200 in my PayPal balance, that does me little good. In addition, she pointed out that I could simply pay my credit card the $180, which still does me little good on the friggin' interest that accrued for 10 days plus. Sure, that would only take a few more days of interest accruing! (Sarcasm intended!) The entire point of a refund, especially in the case of a Claim, is to put the Buyer back into the position he was in before he made the purchase. In the legal world, this is called indemnity, making someone whole. The only whole that was made in my direction, was another HOLE in my head that I was seriously tempted to create out of sheer frustration at the INSANITY of this situation. All this, brings me back to square 1, the eBay Bucks program has a LONG WAY TO GO!!! For now, it blows! P.S. - I would gladly PAY a monthly fee to have the ability to speak with a U.S. customer service rep instead of having to deal with Moron Central, Philippines or India or wherever else. I think in this economy eBay can certainly find a workforce of skilled and experienced Americans to staff a domestic call center at a cost comparable to the cost of their off-shored contracts. Just in time alone on my problem, I must have tied up the Moron Central telephone lines for at least 15 hours within the past week. Surely, that cannot be cost effective. After speaking with the U.S. rep today, I can clearly see that there is nowhere else to go and the case is as resolved as it can possibly be. I won't be calling back because there was EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION. Don't get me wrong, I did not get the answer that I wanted, but that does not mean that it was not EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATED to me that there is no more that can be done and a refund in-kind is absolutely impossible. The U.S. call took less than 10 minutes, compared to 15 hours overseas. Unless eBay is paying them 2 cents per hour, I do not see how it could possibly be cost effective to offshore the customer service lines. Oh, and for all you who think this is an Americanism view, I can assure you it is not. It is practical business. There is a vast difference in having the academic ability to speak, read, and write another language and the ability to comprehend it fluidly. Next time I need to call the off-shored reps, I will be certain to do it on speakerphone with the camcorder going.....look for it on YouTube....I will be the lady that is pulling out her hair!!!!!!

As a member of the Beta I thought I would take the opportunity to provide some feedback on the Ebay Bucks program. First off, with the phasing out of Bing Cashback I have to say that this is an awesome replacement for that program. Even if the payouts are not as high as what Bing was offering, it is nice to be rewarded for shopping through E-bay. So far I have found the system easy to use, and it has increased my loyalty to the e-bay brand. I think it's a great program and I am excited to see how it plays out down the road.
