eBay Bucks Beta Launch

Hi everyone,

Per our announcement on March 30th, this thread will be used to answer your questions and collect your feedback on the eBay Bucks beta launch.

One important reminder: eBay Bucks has launched as an invite-only beta program to randomly selected users. If you have been selected to participate, you'll have received an invitation email from eBay. Periodically we will invite new users to join. Rest assured we'll post any updates here as the program continues to evolve.
Please use this thread for eBay Bucks questions and comments only.

This thread will be accessible starting March 30th. Staff will be checking this thread during business hours (9-5pm PT).

The eBay Bucks team looks forward to your comments and questions!

You can skip sending the invites to all of our ID's since we don't qualify...

1.2 Has a valid PayPal account or successfully signs up for a PayPal account and such account is in good standing (no hold, suspension, or past due amount);

We do not and will not ever have a PP account.

Seems we are ALWAYS receiving these purchasing specials/discount offers that never get utilized while others we know who do utilize/have PP accounts never receive the "special" deals/coupons off.

Perhaps eBay could check and see if the eBay account is linked to a PP account before sending them out...send them to ID's who might actually appreciate/use them?

Hello pknopp,
the email invite will go out to a significant share of eBay users. We have just started to invite users to the program (and will do so over a couple of days), so you might still receive it.

eBay is not increasing seller fees because of eBay Bucks. This program is part of a shift in marketing strategy - moving more of the marketing spend to directly benefit and retain customers we already have.

I think you mean "buyers" that Ebay already has.

I don't see how it will directly benefit "customers" that Ebay has (Ebay's customers are the sellers...the ones who PAY EBay money).

Dear 619bored,
the program rewards buying. It indirectly benefits the sellers, though, by driving demand for their listings. In the end, all buyer marketing ultimately helps our sellers to sell more.

Is this promotion being sent to sellers also? Considering I buy and sell on the same eBay ID and I know lots of eBay customers do this. So how are we defined as a "buyer" or a "seller" if we do both?

No Thank You!

I do not need a rewards program.

What I need as a buyer is a search that works, Pages that load quickly. Pages that do not take up the whole screen and blind you.


I see no benefit to sellers , except the Diamonds, with this program. By the way if I wanted to buy from them I would just go directly to their own web sites not through Ebay.

This may not be what you (Ebay) want to hear. It is just what I want as a buyer.
