eBay Bucks Beta - Redemption of earned Bucks certificates

Jul 8, 2009 10:32 AM
Hi everyone:

As of July 9th, we've begun our first redemption period for the eBay Bucks Beta program. If you are enrolled, and have earned eBay Bucks during the first earn period (April 1 through June 30, 2009), you should receive a notification email with your eBay Bucks certificate that you can redeem/spend.

You can redeem the Bucks on any eligible eBay purchase that accepts PayPal for the next 30 days - from now through August 8th, 2009.

This thread will be accessible beginning July 9, and is intended to answer question you may have about redeeming and spending your earned eBay Bucks. Staff members will be regularly checking this thread during business hours.

Note - as communicated earlier - the ebay Bucks Beta launched earlier this year as an invite-only beta program to randomly selected users.

Thanks - we look forward to your comments and feedback.
Regards,

Hagar

Hi all, the ebay bucks are ok, but the big problem is where is all that merchandise that we used to buy before???

What good is ebay bucks when the merchandise is no longer on the shelves of your favorite seller's listings or where did those selers all run to hide from us? Hey past sellers who used to sell on ebay, come out, come out from where your hiding, I've got $15 ebay bucks for you. Please

Hi...I am thrilled to have received my second e-Bay Bucks..... I missed-out on even seeing my first opportunity.... as I was on vacation... and did not have access to the internet.... I know that sounds impossible..... but I wasn't able to have access until September.....I was excited to use the first 'bucks' that I had earned just before leaving ....They were not posted until after I left.... and I mis-understood, or remembered poorley, thinking that I had three months to spend... as I did three months to earn... I was so sorry to see those e-Bay Bucks go unclaimed.... I don't even know how many I earned.... and I wouldn't expect you to make an exception for me to redeem them at this late date... but I would appreciate knowing what dollar amount I missed-out-on. Realizing that these
'e-Bucks' couldn't have been transferred is also understandable.... but... I was wondering....Could there be a plan for those un-redeemed/spent 'e-Bucks' to be donated to one of the many options available on e-Bay? Has anyone else thought of this? I am probably not the only e-Bayer caught off-guard in this situation.
Thanks, Judy Kockx

I got mine for the first time on the 9th. Thanks eBay. It wasn't a whole lot but a savings is a savings.

I was waiting for the ebay buck to show up during my paypal payment with no luck. Now I'm stuck buying a product that could have been purchased for the same price somewhere else. I used ebay because OF THE EBAY BUCKS!!

The problem is that you have to commit to buy before you know if you can or cannot use your ebay bucks.

I'm really upset and waiting for a customer service rep to tell me that I'm screwed....

This beta program sux

I went through checkout and bought an item with BIN for less than the $31 i have in ebay bucks...entered my certificate, it all looked good and today I see that the cost of item was taken out in full from my paypal and I have $31 in ebay bucks again to use. i thought the requirement was that the seller use paypal?? Obviously they do as it got paid for with my paypal balance

I'm confused as to why I've been offered eBay Bucks on an account where I rarely buy. However, the ID I use for MAJOR buying didn't received the Bucks email/offer either in July or now in October. How does eBay decide who gets to take advantage of them? (And who doesn't.)

I read in the Terms & Conditions and saw that Ebay posted in this question that if a buyer returns an item that was paid for with Ebay Bucks, that the Ebay Bucks amount would also be returned to the buyer to be used again.

However, I spent $100+ of Ebay bucks on a bracelet I had to return; the seller refunded the $100+ via Paypal about 48 hours ago and I have NOT seen those Ebay Bucks returned again to my Bucks account for my use.

So, Hagar, just how is it we are supposed to get the Bucks back to use again? Thanks for any information. I am seriously bummed.

Still waiting for the return of my $100+ Ebay bucks to my account after I returned a bracelet that was paid for with Ebay bucks. Hagar, is there something more I need to do to get this facilitated? Thanks.

By the way, I just wasn't patient enough. Apparently refunded with an e-check and it took some time to clear. The returned EBAY Bucks are now back in my account and are usable. Thank you!

I think the Bucks is just a way to try and make more people stay with PayPal now that they have allowed a few viable competitors on. Like they claim you get no eBay protection if you use another approved payment method. That's why I stopped taking PayPal altogether on eBay anymore. I only take it on other auction sites.

I have eBay Bucks to use but can you clarify the Expiration Date and Time?

My Messages says to use my Bucks 'by' Nov 8. Also says my Bucks expire 'on' Nov 8.

Now, does this mean I need to buy something / use my Bucks by 11:59 PM Nov 7 (today)?

and if so, is that Eastern Time (I'm on the East Coast) or Pacific Time (as eBay uses its Local Time)?

Thanks in advance

Shelf, I would think it would be PST as that is Ebay's time.

I just redeemed my Bucks, quick and easy. Every little bit helps.
