Selling Limit on eBay???
Jul 8, 2011 06:40 PM
I got an email on the 26'th of June saying eBay placed a limit on my account for 100 items or $1000. That is way less than I usually sell.
I have been a member since December of 2007 and have 100% pos. feedback..290 feedbacks.. This is completely ridiculous considering the fact that I always pay on time and have only had 1 buyer dissatisfied and eBay investigated and concluded that he was fraudulent and removed his feedback. How should I appeal a BS limit like this.

I do not think you can appeal it....You just have to go by what they say for now....
How many did you want to list that you cannot...
Are you now selling a different type of item than in than in past.
Maybe start a new id for listing more.

I don't see why they would limit you. eBay watches accounts of those selling consumer electronics (specifically Apple products) closely but it looks like you have been selling them for a while.

Are you a powerseller? If not, that may be why they limited you.

How do you know they are fake?

If you look at the picture you can easily tell. An iPhone has this good quality look to it..its hard to explain but when you get a real iphone you'll be able to distinguish it from a fake..another way to tell is people putting i phone with a space..those ones are the fake ones i've seen on ebay..in the title they put iphone but in the description they put i phone..plus if the seller says it includes a battery then its most likely fake because the battery in an iphone is built in and you need to open up the device to change the battery. (its more of a repair)

Usually they won't remove your limit until the 1st day of the following month so December 1st in your case.

You can call eBay and ask them to remove it but when I tried that, it didn't really help anything.  Good luck.

Got same limitation problem and I will leave ebay because of this problem. I tried to call ebay, they said they will review my account, yet no notification about what the result is. I am stuck with 10 items listing every month.

I guess ebay does not want a small overseas seller growing.

I'm upset with ebay placing a selling limit on items.  However, I've never sold anything and the one item I would like to sell is rather expensive.  I believe they've done this to protect people from scams, fake products, etc.  So they've put in place a system that MIGHT mitigate erroneous acts but in the meantime, it hinders honest people who want to use thier site.  It's unfortunate.

I am very confused by the selling limit.  About 6 weeks ago, I have a 10 item $500 limit.  I went through a 2 month cycle and sold what I could and shipped instantly.  All satisifed customers.  I requested an increase and it was ok'd.  I can now sell 100 items with a $5000 monthly limit which is more than fine.  Tonight, I listed several items successfully, but all of a sudden, it is telling me that I hit my limit.  I can clearly see that my limit is 100/$5000.  Has anybody encountered this ?  Is this a glitch ?

Thanks in Advance

I think the same thing happened to me. I have 800 items or 10,000. And I know Im not at my $10,000 but it says I am close to reaching it. I hate this limit thing.

So how do I find out my selling limit? eBay's "help" section merely defines the various types of limits.

I  got the bizarrely titled FR%OMM002 - Important information about your eBay account SR# 1-4715928104 email last month. Thought it was phishmail and forwarded it to spoof at eBay.com. They responded that it probably was NOT from eBay!!!

10 years on eBay, 3000+/99.7 positive feedback, and now this? I am now limited to 100 listings per month, a third of what I usually put up! My monthly sales are between $2500 and $5000 per month (I take July/August off).

Finally got through their links to call Customer Service, the guy had nothing useful at all,

I'm a retired Senior Citizen selling my downsizing family's books, records, etc. to supplement Social Security. Has anyone had any luck appealing this BS?

I'm a new seller and I'm facing this problem too. I was told to send in personal info when I first got it, and will be able to list after submitting. But after 6 months contacting the useless customer service (who just keep copying and pasting the same old template over and over again), I'm still under this category limit. They claimed there is no way to lift this limit, which I find is a bunch of BS. We should all post on eBay's Facebook, that should get their attention.

I have a selling limit of $5000 /100 item a month and a category limit as well (20 items/category). I have my selling limit renewed at the begin of the month but not the category. Anyone knows if the category limit will be renewed?

I am new, and This is totally stupid.  It just shows that ebay doesn't need more money from buyers/sellers.  I have 350 bridal gowns under $1000, and about 500 gowns over $1500.  My limit is $1000.  So that means that I will not be able to sell not even one of the nicer gowns.  Customer service is a joke as well.  Is this even worth it?

I dont get it I rarely use ebay for selling but when I sell something it´s in the 500 to 4000 dollar range and now I have a 500 maximum limit per month so I cant sell anything... Basically ebay is useless for me now. What is the point of this, this must generate less income for ebay? I have too look at other ways to sell my goods...

I am in Canada, eBay has my selling limits restricted because I do not conform to US standards but my ratings are ABOVE average, this morning they dropped my limit to half and then when I phones it was because I did not meet US standards but was and am way above Canadian and all other country standards, are they trying to push sellers away, 4 low starts in shipping out of hundreds and this is what happens, I am thinking about leaving eBay and selling on other sites that are more fare to sellers.
