I haven't, but I found this on the web:

Link

If something like that didn't work, I would go to a dermatologist.

This is a testimonial page for a product called Glove in a Bottle. It appears to be highly recommended by medical professionals.

I just checked the website, and there is an Art Supply store downtown that carries it. I just called and they have it on the shelves. Guess where I'm heading to this morning.

Thank you again.

I know your pain....I have the same issue.
About the Glove in a Bottle....I briefly looked at the link....personally, it doesnt look like anything special to me. I think its just like vaseline type ointments.
Whats works for me is this product by Eucerin. I cant think of the name, and I dont have any right now, but its not a lotion...its more of an ointment. If you can stand thick goopy stuff like Vaseline...you should try it. Its prob the same as that GIAB stuff, at a fraction of the price. And you can get it anywhere.
And try and stay away from hot water.

Bath & Body Works also carries a great lotion. Link My mother has trouble sewing in the winter because her hands get so rough and "catch" on the fabric. Using this lotion fixed that problem so well that she bought it for the ladies in her quilt group.

Have you tried changing your hand soap? I find that I wash my hands a lot more this time of year and I have a sensitivity to Sodium Laurel Sulphate which is in nearly all hand soaps. You may want to try switching to a different hand soap --it should say on the package contains no SLS. You may need to check a health food store for this type of hand soap. Target carries Burt's Bees hand soap that is SLS free.

The other thing, if you have hard water (like us), you may not be getting all the soapy residue off your hands even though it feels like you've rinsed it away.

Thank you Marsha and Lynn, I'll try those as well. The store has a travel size, so at least I can try for a few days to see if it really works for me before committing to a full size bottle. I'm almost out of room for bottles of lotion.

For my feet, which get extremely dry and cracked to the point of bleeding, I use a product from WalMart called Flexitol Heel Balm. It looks very cheesy and it may be made by the annoying Head-On people.

All I know is that HOLY COW this stuff works miracles, seemingly overnight.

I'll bet you could put it on your hands and wear gloves to bed and would wake up a new woman.

Check the reviews in the link above.

It's pretty inexpensive... just a few dollars for a tube that lasts me several months.

Funny you should mention SLS, I was thinking about that the other day when a friend mentioned she was having a hard time finding shampoo that didn't contain SLS.

Now I have never tried this myself, but I saw it on a Tyra Banks show a couple of years ago and keep meaning to. Someone on there recommended Crisco. Same routine, slather it on and put a sock/glove over it over night....they were using it on their dry elbows.

If it works, it is definitely more inexpensive that many lotions/specialty soaps!

I swear by Boudreaux’s Butt Paste, it's not just for butts anymore, and you can order a free sample from their website.

I have terrible eczema outbreaks on my hands in the winter. They will get red, itchy, scaley patches, and eventually crack and bleed. I've found the best lotion for me is Palmer's Cocoa Butter. I slather it on at night and wear gloves. The secret to the gloves is to never wash them. Even when they get gooey from the lotion, that's when they work best because they won't absorb the lotion from your hands. Also, apply the lotion throughout the day, especially after washing your hands.

Sorry you're going through this OP. Hope you find whatever will work best for you. :)
