OT: Prayers/Good Thoughts for Friend's Son (H1N1)

I am not one to post for prayers and good thoughts but I do believe that positive thinking can make a difference.

I mentioned last week in the thread on the shot for H1N1 that a friends son had H1n1 and pneumonia. He is 20. This was a week ago. They thought he was improving this past Weds but it suddenly worsened Friday night. By 3 am Saturday they had him at the Er and he had a collasped lung. He was taken to surgery. His temperture had stayed at about 102 since Friday but today it has gone as high as 104.3. for over an hour.

He is in on isolated floor for H1N1 patients at the local hospital and only allowed one family caregiver with him. they have to wear special clothing and not take anything into the room with them.

His mother is not one to worry a lot and is very easy going. But, she is becoming increasingly worried about his condition.

This flu is a very serious thing and I encourage you to take it serious.

Please keep him in your thoughts or say a prayer .

Sending prayers in their direction! It amazes me how so many people seem to not be taking the H1N1 flu as a seriouse threat. I truly hope this young man is back on his feet soon! I will continue to pray.

I will be praying for your friend's DS.

A co-worker of my DH returned to work today after having H1N1. He was out a week. He said it really wasn't bad. His two children had it also and recovered. It is puzzling why it effects some people so terribly and others not.

My doctor said teens and early 20's people who get it usually have good immune systems. In fact, their good immunce systems over-react to the virus and that's what causes the problems.
I'll be keeping this young man in my thoughts.

I am so sorry to hear about your friend's son.

When i hear stories like this, I realize how fortunate my son & I were to have recovered without any major problems.
I hope things turn around and this young man does too.

I am sorry to hear about your friend's son.

I work at a college and we take the kids to the hospital. I would rather not do it as we are not vaccinated yet.
