ebay: you can spend $20,000.00 on several hundred items, that no one else would buy, and have have 03 dishonest sellers quote you an excessive shipping cost, and you refuse to finalize the transaction. and what does ebay do: they suspend you FOR LIFE, yes, you get a life sentence. you are informed not to come back to ebay, with a real or unreal name. feedback means nothing. you work so hard to please sellers, only to loose it over 03 items that ended with a closing high bid of $1.99. ebay is truly out there for the seller. let it be noted: if it wasn't for the buyer, there'd be NO NEED FOR THE SELLER.
AND FORGET ABOUT TRYING TO GET AN ACTUAL HUMAN BEING TO TALK TO.

EBAY overcharged me $120 in seller fees. Only when I was doing my 2005 taxes did I notice the fraud. EBAY has been screwing around for two weeks now with "we don't see any charges" la la la.... "what charges in Aug and sept are you talking about?" la la la la.....

EBAY doesn't give a damn and I am going to sick every govt agency I can find on them if they don't straighten this out and refund $120 in the next 24 hours.

EBAY you're on notice.

THIS IS A POST MORE SO FOR "EBAY" THAN IT'S SELLERS AND BUYERS. HOW LONG DO YOU EXPECT TO TREAT PEOPLE LIKE CRAP AND NOT HAVE NEGATIVE RESULTS.YOU HAVE CREATED A SYSTEM WHERE YOUR MOST IMPORTANT ASSET IS THE SELLER. BUT YOU GIVE THE MOST ESENTIAL (THE BUYERS) THE MOST GRIEFF. WITHOUT BUYERS YOU HAVE NO SELLERS. YOUR FEEDBACK IS BASICLY USELESS. ANYONE CAN LEAVE YOU NEGITIVE FEEDBACK FOR THE SMALLEST OF ERRORS.THEN YOU KICK THEM OFF FOR LIFE.FOR THREE NEG.FEEDBACKS, WHAT GENIOUS THOUGHT THAT UP.LETS GET ONTO THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT ISSUE. OH I FORGOT THERE IS NONE. LETS DO A QUICK EXAMPLE:
SELLER IN LIVE CHAT:I NEED SOME HELP MY ACCOUNT HAS BEEN SUSPENDED.

EBAY: OH I AM SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THAT LETS TAKE A LOOK

SELLER: GREAT THANKS

EBAY: WHY YOUR VERY WELCOME

EBAY: IT SEEMS YOU MUST CONACT OUR TRUST AND SAFTEY DEPT FOR THAT INFO.SHALL I CONNECT YOU NOW.

SELLER:YES THANKS

EBAY:OH IT IS MY PLEASURE

SELLER IS NOW TRANSFERD TO A LINK WHERE THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND ALL CORESPONDENCE IS DONE VIA EMAIL.
TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE YOU HAVE TO WAIT SEVERAL DAYS FOR A RESPONSE.AND WHEN YOU DO GET AN ANSWER IS IS JUST ANOTHER LINK TO ANOTHER LINK THAT TAKES YOU BACK TO THE SAME PLACE YOU STARTED.

SOON SOMEONE WILL START ANOTHER ONLINE TRDEING COMPANY THAT CARES ENOUGH ABOUT IT'S CUSTOMER BASE TO OFFER TELEPHONE SUPPORT.THEN AS FAST AS YOU GREW YOU WILL FALL.
THE THING EBAY SEEMS TO OVERLOOK IS THE VAST MAJORITY OF EBAY CUSTOMERS ARE UNHAPPY WITH EBAY. NOT HAPPY,NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

I am also having trouble with a "Power Seller" and getting nowhere. Ebay bumps my complaint to paypal who in turn reviews the case and closes it a few days later because the seller was able to provide them with "proof" that he mailed all my items... Paypal and Ebay buyer protection is no protection at all. It's not meant to be otherwise they would lose money! Today I was told by a "real person" at paypal, that according to there policies, they do NOT guarantee "contents or condition" of an item only that a package has been sent. So in effect what this means is that these "POWER SELLERS" can get away with mailing out an empty or incomplete package and as long as they can furnish proof "something" was sent they are in good standing with Ebay and Paypal. You are essentially lying and have absoloutly no rights in there eyes! This is policy. We agreed to it when we signed with ebay and paypal. Actually, no I did not. When I joined ebay they were the ones who handled my complaints. A new policy that took hold since the dawn of the paypal-eBay merger was incorporated long after I had joined either. They are ONE money making machine and only assist the money makers! Bottom line BUYERS BEWARE OF EBAY TOO NOT THE SELLERS ALONE... Despite ebays disregard for these matters ALL TRADE on ebay is governed by federal postal laws. In other words if you pay and do not recieve an item IT IS MAIL FRAUD! You can get the info for that from your local post office. You'll more then likely get farther that way. Figure how much money a power seller could make in 1 month if he only actually sent 95% of the items paid for? How much did eBay make as a result? Do your needs outweigh the profit? That's it in a nut shell! And to the question "Is this against the law?", the answer is YES, however, unless someone with as much capital and power as ebay is willing to question it, nothing will come of it. Class action suits are of no use because only the lawers come out on top and the company normally only pays out a small portion up front while the rest is conviently held up in assets so basically the laywers get paid and the issues never get resolved. Welcome to American buisness ethics! THERE ARE NON! Big Buisness Equals Bad Buisness. It's the way of things I guess. The little guy never gets ahead and every time we inch up a little a new law is created to protect these money giants from us little nippers trying to get a piece of the action. Yah right! Anyway there's my two cents on the matter, who knows maybe all the buyers will get together someday and finally be heard, and maybe innovative-deals really did send my item and all will be well in the world:-x LOL ;)

Hey, here is a side note if ebay is a member of the BBB then enough complaints could effect their standing, perhaps a mass email campaign to let people know would get some notice. Just a thought;)

Not only are ebay and amazon non responsive they will not respond period.

Help wizards are TOTALLY useless for any but the most boneheaded questions.

AND my sales have gone from 90% half vs 10% Amazon TO 90% Amazon vs 10% half in one year. Shoot even the buyers are going to half.

ebay and half servers are slow as molasses and unrelyable. The managment of this company is really falling down.

I sold my gps through ebay. It was my first time. I looked to see where it was selling and it was not there so I did it over again, It still wasn't listed so I finally got through to messaging on line. She tried to find it and couldn't and I said is that all we can do? She said it would be listed tomorrow and not to worry. In the process I've been charged $91.00 in selling fees for listing 3 times. I am an old lady 70 (don't tell anyone) who is very excited about ebay but if I am strapped with these kind of fees, I'd be better off sending my stuff to Goodwill. At least I'd get a tax break. Also how do I pay Ebay after I've sold my item? Please adjust that crazy bill. This was my first time selling.echip@msn.com

Hi. I recently sold my first three items on Ebay. I received email conformation stating that my three buyers paid and so I went ahead and sent out the items immediately. I noticed I received an email from "Safeharbor Department" stating that My Ebay account has been suspended and gave me a link to click on. I "think" this emial is a scam...not sure though. I had no problem selling and received payment confirmation about my receiving payment....the money just hasn't been transferred to my checking acct. yet, but according to ebay and email the buyers did pay. I'm really worried because I this is my first time selling anything on ebay, I've already mailed out the items but this email I received has me worried. Can anyone out there help me or give me some sort of advice?

i am new and had a problem. i needed a live person and could not find a number. i proceeded by email several times and then finally a phone number was found where it was not before.
i think they review all of the issues and correspondence and put a number for you to access if they want you to call them!!! ahah...foiled again!!! i had made the mistake of not writing it down and could not find it the next day. thought it was my inexperience on the computer or the peroxide gone to my head.

This is my first bad experience with ebay. I paid for an item won on ebay via PayPal but the seller refuses to send it. He states the item has not beed paid for even though I emailed him the PayPal receipt of payment. I filed a complaint with PayPal and ebay, ebay sent a reply back with a warning that I need to pay for item by a certain date or I'll lose privileges.
While searching for an ebay phone number so I can talk to a live person I stumble on to this disscusion board only to be amazed by the amount of people having problems contacting ebay. Looks like I'm going to get screwed on this transaction. Now I have a new outlook on ebay. I thought they were a good company to deal with but now my eyes are open.

I'll try the numbers others have posted here, hopefully I'll get lucky. Sad it has to be like this.

To all other honest ebayers, good luck!

Better Business Bureau, under "check this out" click "business" and search for ebay, its the first result. after you dial choose the number for the operator and ask for customer service, not the customer service menu option!

I've Been looking for lawsuit information for ebay, I'd Like to sue their a$$ off. My item did not sell, well there was a bidder, and now that the bidder will not pay, will not respond to any correspondence, I've filed a fair value fee credit, blah, blah etc just like ebay procedures require. (although I may have done this a day or 2 late.) ebay granted a refund of -$39,014.72 for my final value fee. So my ballance is now -$.01. (This to me was cool, the way it should have been) this was only after lengthy conversations with ebay staff, not by phone of course, but live chat, email etc, they sent me an invoice refunding my $39,014.72 FVF leaving me with -$.01 ballance.

One week later an attempt to charge my bank account in the ammount of $39,014.71 was attempted by ebay. This was aproxametly 2 weeks ago, Today on 4/6/2006 they invoiced me for $534 for a late charge on a -$.01 ballance. Anybody know of a lawyer in the california area who'd like to take this case on PROBONO, please have them contact me on my ebay, user name inkerweizel.

I don't have a whole lot of money for good lawyers, infact, i'm nearly broke, that's why I listed my idea on ebay, to sell my services of being the general contractor and designer, to build 2 insainely fast cars for the winning bidder, so I listed my item for $2.5million.
In the auction I'd made many claims, all of them I planned to uphold. Now that the auction is over, with no winning bidder able to pay, ebay is so greedy that they want their $39,014.71 no matter what.

I'd like to offer a lawyer a fair amount for a $2.5million lawsuit I'd like to place against ebay, the amount of the item that I planned to sell on ebay. And I don't plan to build them the cars I had in my auction when I win this lawsuit.

I'd prefer contacts by lawyers who can take this kind of lawsuit PROBONO if possible.

This process with ebay has infuriated, myself, my wife, taken countless hours away from work just to try to get some answers from ebay and correct this "problem" We've had to rearange our lives, cancell our bank accounts, etc, just to stop ebay from unfairly trying to get the money they think they deserve for my unwon listing.

I'll prepare a timeline sequence of events of conversations, invoices, between myself and ebay in a spreadsheet format with dates, items and all pertinent attachments for council to review.

I do appreciate the Phone #'s people have left, I'll continue searching for the information and council I need, any help would be greatly appreciated.
thank you.

Hi, i have read this long thread about an ebay numbers also, forget it, ebay will never help you.I had someone steal my idenity, they have registered with ebay using my name and address and phone no.I wrote ebay 36 times now.I canceled my credit information of course. Some one finally did call me from ebay, WOW WHAT A SHOCK!.problem is this person is really 2 ! One person using 2 different acccounts, they did suspend one and left the other keep selling,so the pirate is still on ebay, or 1, i should say, the theif is still there, the 2 are one in the same.I have called the police and the police in the other state and also the states attonrey general"s office where this person lives. they may help me, buy it seems ebay will not do much.I sure wish i had Mr. Bill Cobb's phone number? I have written a real letter to Meg Whitman, and of course no response either. They make millions but when it comes to we sellers and buyers, we are just little fish in a big pond, which is so very sad.

We gave up on ebay alltogether. Nothing but a hassle in getting answers from them, so after being a so called "valued" customer we are exit stage left and canceled our account. Being a member since Feb 1999, 100% positive feedback, never had any problems with sellers or buyers, we opened a store and got the shaft from ebay, no answers, complete run arounds, nothing bu hassles. Dont bother calling them, becuase they can only tell you if you sent the email to the right place, they have no power to tell you ANYTHING at all, they cannot even resolve 99% of things you need. Im sure that ol Bill Cobb could care less about me, because I am mearly one of a millions of subscribers, but alot of things where changed by just one person. History has many examples. Good luck on getting any answers from ebay, they will tell you that they are not required to contact you about anything, because they need it all on paper for legal reasons, yet they fail to do even that. I have good products, and wont have any problem selling them else where.

Obviously EBAY does not give a damn about the public or their customers. It's all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$. What does that really say????? Any big corporation (and an honest one at that) would supply their customers with a LIVE HELP PHONE LINE like ANY RESPECTABLE COMPANY would!!! Ebay is a SCAM themselves!!! I have an ALERT from a seller and I paid that bastard and he put an alert on my account. Now he is a UNREGISTERED SELLER with many (numerous) feedbacks and I am paying the price of looking like I do'nt pay. That for the saying, makes a good buyer/seller look real bad!! And who can you trust???? It is getting so bad as now when I bid and win an auction, pay for it and am I going to get the item? NO PROTECTION!!! Thier Protection Center is a JOKE!! Ebay will probably kick me off for being an honest person!!! LOL Even if I request a phone call, do you think I'll get one???? NOT!
