Disneyworld Ticket Scam
Oct 23, 2005 08:43 AM

I have been looking for admission tickets to Disneyworld on ebay for the past few weeks, and have been shocked to discover how many scam artists there are out there. I have been approached by three different people wishing to make deals outside of ebay, each of which has used multiple member names to approach me, many of which have been stolen. These scammers had offered me great prices, so I suppose the old addage here applies: if its too good to be true, it is.

Could you please give me her contact information because we really want to go on a mini vacation this month. Currently, we don't exactly have that much money to pay a full price. THANKS!

Travel agents are not authorized to sell tickets. Must be licensed by Disney. 4 people were just arrested selling tickets in Orlando. Them stole identities ,bought tickets and sold them on Craig's list and Ebay. Fingerprints didn't match initial user. They got booted out.

If you buy WDW tix here, be prepared to have them confiscated at the gate and lose all your money AND have to buy tickets there. WDW uses a biometric scan machine, where you put two fingers in the machine and it reads your unique finger scan. The tickets are NOT transferrable to anyone else, so if someone else has used the tickets, only their fingers can be authorized for entry on those particular tix. DL does not have the same machines, tho it should. They can ask for ID at the date to compare the ticket buyer and the ticket user via their ticket machines and the tix could be confiscated there as well. It has happened to people. You should read some of the Disney boards online to hear the horror and sob stories. BUY YOUR OWN TICKETS! I would never, never, never in a million years buy a ticket for the Disney parks here at ebay. First it is against ebay rules to sell them, since they are legally non-transferrable items and you WILL get scammed. Buy your tickets at the park or through the travel companies. Trying to save a couple bucks on your tix to the magic will actually destroy your magic. You will end up losing the money you spent here on fake or used tix and you WILL have to buy new tickets at the park prices when you find you cannot use the tix you bought here. Don't do it!!!!! Save yourself some grief. suesmouse

I have bought tickets in the past and on one occassion re-sold tickets after I used them and had 1 day left over, without a problem. of course, that was before all this fingerprint jazz. I haven't been there since. if yo do buy on Ebay, make sure they are the old kind that don't expire, are not signed and were issued before the fingerprint method kicked in.

Do not buy partially used tickets for Disney on eBay. You don't know what is really left on them plus you have to put your fingers in a machine at the gate for a measurement. You can't use a ticket someone else has already partially used anymore.

I have in the past sold a few tickets that we no longer needed. But I would be very leery of buying any right now since you have to use your finger scan to use the ticket. If the ticket was used just once and they sell it to you, you will get to the gate and not be able to get in, you will end up having to go to the counter and buy all new tickets. So even if you get a receipt it doesn't guarantee that the ticket will work for you. I have a website address of a company I have used 3 times to buy tickets and know of others who have also used them. They are discounted tickets. You will not get 8 for $800 though!!! I didn't know if I could post the website here so If I can let me know and I will be more than happy to provide it!

I had great results buying disney tickets from an ebayer, but she was a travel agent with 100 percent positives and over 1500 transactions. i would NOT buy any of the tickets you guys are talking about. It's always a gamble. We lucked out and found a great broker who was honest and speedy, but she's a professional. It's a total buyer beware kind of thing.

Hi, I was made the same offer. In fact, I think one of these sellers have a bid posted right now. I have already sent them 4 emails asking if the tickets are specifically adult tickets and did they have the reciepts. No response. Just an offer for 8 tickets for $800. Too good to be true. They seem to be listing as if they are from Canada. The email address ends with @gmail. Hope this info helps.

Don't know about these tickets...but they have you put your fingers in a machine...so I don't believe that you can share tickets! Plus they say that they aren't going to sign the tickets but sometimes they do check and make you sign them right there, (they have a table set up with pens). Diana
