Tinkerbell bell - trying to find age and 'value'
Jun 26, 2009 10:16 AM
I ordinarily sell pottery and glass, but today at a TS a 3" tall brass bell with the figure of Tinkerbell fell into my cart.

This doesn't seem to me to be 'new' old, but old old. I have no experience of Disney collectibles - can anyone help me find out how to find this item?

I can't get a photo today, but will tomorrow - it's pretty plainly Tinkerbell as the handle of the bell (which still has clapper).

TIA

OK -- this is an awful photo - but maybe you can imagine the detail... I don't have any Disney book, and would be very grateful to anyone who could take a look into theirs. TIA - Liz. Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Ah yes, I have two of these! They've been available for a while, but the two I have are different colors, almost as if they are different metals. It's actually "new" old, but still desirable, since Tinker Bell has enjoyed such a boost in her popularity! I know my two bells both came from the original Disneyland, I'm not sure if they were sold at Walt Disney World (but I'll bet they were), and I'm pretty sure they were not available anywhere else on earth except Disney parks. I think it is definately worth listing, in any case, but don't expect the big bucks. Hope this helps you! Photobucket *tink*

Thanks - I DID find a mark - inside, and the 'top' of the bell, it says Walt Disney Productions in a circle around the base of the clanger.

Does "Walt Disney Productions" provide parameters for dates?

Thx

Yes, officially "Walt Disney Productions" was used between October 16, 1923 and February 6, 1986. Photobucket

I picked up one of these Tinker bell brass bells today. Were you able to find out how much the bell was worth? I have one that I got at Disney Worle when I was a kid back in the 70s and was wondering how much it was worth.

Of course, it's "worth" what anybody is willing to pay for it. The bell is not a rarity or hard to find, I would imagine it could go for for maybe $10-$20. They were available for sale for a decade or two, and there are many of them out there. Still, Tinker Bell has enjoyed a surge in popularity and there are those who will need to have this bell! (Like I said, I have two of them!) Photobucket*tink*
