Feedback of 10+ required for unlimited posting in Discussion & Chat Boards * User IDs with feedback scores that are less than 10 are limited to 10 posts per day on the Discussion and Chat Boards. Just as member feedback reputations are critical in building and maintaining trust in the eBay marketplace, this type of transparency is also an important factor in sustaining healthy communities. Members must assume that the history they see in another's feedback is an appropriate reflection of the person's active participation as an eBay member. As well, one's behavior on the boards is a direct reflection of the type of trading partner they would be. If we think of eBay as a real-life community, people are not anonymous and do not throw away their identities from one day to the next. The discussion boards are a place where eBay members can discuss eBay issues/problems/fun/anything …concerning their activity. Your feedback score represents your “activity” and experience with the site. It’s the best indicator of who you are to others who don’t already know you. Some members voice concerns about preventing others on the boards from knowing about their buying or selling activity, and may choose to post with a user id that is different from that with which they buy and sell. Doing this does not indicate that the member is untrustworthy, as many good people who add positively to the community may use a posting id. It is a matter of individual choice, and we ask that all members be treated with respect regardless of the choice they make. However, members making such a choice must do so with the understanding that others can only take their advice and experience at face value, as they must assume that the member's feedback is the extent of their buying and selling experience, as well as their length of membership. Only after lengthy association will another member be able to determine the character of a person who uses a posting id. Regardless of choice of user id, each member is expected to post with only one user id, so that all others (not just regulars on a board but newcomers as well) can know with whom they are communicating from post to post and day to day. Many of those who choose posting ids with which to help other members have always been faithful in using a single id so that the Community always knows who they are. If an individual chooses to post with a user id that has less than ten Feedback, they should be aware that by doing so they are also voluntarily limiting their ability to post to 10 posts per day. It is a violation of this rule to circumvent the restriction on posting for accounts with less than 10 Feedback by use of multiple ids or to confuse or avoid detection while engaging in disruptive behavior or policy violations. This limitation is applicable only to the Discussion and Chat Boards. Members who have less than 10 Feedback may continue to ask questions in The Answer Center or make unlimited posts within eBay Groups of which they are members.
