Impersonation of eBay Staff or other eBay Members Grounds for Immediate Post Removal, Board Sanction or other action •Attempting to impersonate eBay staff or other eBay members This includes creating user ids that mimic those of other posters, using code to fake a pink line or post headers so that it appears a post has been made by someone when it was not, as well as using numbers or letters that cause an id to appear closely similar to another. eBay's success is founded upon an environment of trust among its members. Misrepresentation of identity is an egregious offense, because it violates this trust. When a member deliberately attempts, for whatever reason (even in play), to mimic the identity of any other member, there is potential harm to the mimicked member's reputation within the community, as well as overall damage to the community's feeling that we can trust those we come in contact with to be who they say they are.
