Grounds for Immediate Post Removal, Board Sanction, or other action •Refusing to follow eBay staff instruction or direction. This rule allows for flexibility to meet community needs as they may arise, particularly in relation to standards of behavior that neighborhoods may have established over time, or where new types of problems emerge in our changing community. An example is posting gifs or photos on the Chat Boards. Some board communities enjoy sharing many photos with each other, while others have need to request that images be linked rather than placed directly on the board. Where the entire regular neighborhood follows a practice that is considerate of others, we attempt to be sensitive to this and may request members to abide by requests to avoid violating such behavior. Another place this may come up is in situations where some behavor or activity by a member or members interferes with the ability of a board to function for its most basic purposes. It's often easy to get caught up in things and to not see how one's own behavior contributes to some ongoing problem. This allows us to request members to refrain from certain discourteous behaviors, giving them an opportunity to gain some distance and insight into the dynamics of a situation, and learn how to prevent escalations of such when faced with similar situations in the future. Special purpose boards, such as The Park, the New to eBay Board, the Giving Board, and others, may have specific needs. For example, controversial topics are not allowed in The Park, as that would interfere with the intended use of the board as a "flame-free zone".
