paying for a vehicle

I have won a bid for a vehicle. I contacted the seller this am, and I am willing to send him $100.00 thru Pay Pal. He said he only wants a check or wired monies for the $4,500 purchase. Is this cool? I would rather feel like I have a little more protection with my money. This vehicle is located about 2,000 miles from where I live so I cant just run over and look at it to make sure it is for real. Any suggestions?

hehehe, No PayPal means no PayPal

Stinking Seller Protection, you sellers want it all

in fact if it isn't worth twice what you paid you will file a dispute and want your money back
