We just got set up for mission fosh & are a registered non profit organization. The PetSave Foundation is a noi kill rabbit rescue. I posted a donation auction asking people to sponsor/donate & feed a bunny for a week. It was shut down & we were accused of trying to sell a live animal. No animals are being sold. We rely completely on donations to keep our rescue going & after seeing other similar auctions we decided to try it ourselves hoping it would bring in funding to help support our rescue.We were going to offer custom made shirts on the bigger donations auctions once we get it figured out as a thank you to the donors. The first one I listed was for to feed a bunny for a week. It didn't even last 24 hours. Was it because they did not read the description? .Is there any rules against asking people to sponsor an animal & help feed it house it or help the rescue in general?

First of all if it's not allowed why is the Bobtail Rescue in the UK allowed to do it? They have been doing it for awhile now which is why I decided to try it myself. Is it allowed because they offer to send a picture & a personalized e-mail to the buyer? I did offer that by the way. They still ended the auction,

Also I called ebay & was told that if we post a scan of our 501 form we would be able to list like that.

I would like to know for sure it wil be allowed before I list another one.

I contacted ebay multiple times after they ended a couple of auctions & it finally got straightened out. I can list donation auctions if we offer something as a thank you. Hope this helps someone else in knowing this. Also if you don't get help the first time call again once or twice & you will eventually get someone who actually knows something about your situation & can help. I ran into a dead end a couple of times but kept at it until I got ahold of someone who was able help me.

as for rules in other countries they are very different on some things.

for instance in China sellers can sell live animals- dogs,, cats, etc. so the rules may be different on this
