Decline in revenue

Hi,

I've been using EPN for a few years now, and run vBuleltin with a re-write mod.

I used to have a massive income from EPN but within the last 3 months it's declined to under £100.

Has something changed? Is there something im doing wrong?

My stream is based on URL's to eBay. The banners I display don't tend to generate anything.

Thanks in advance

Looking at your reports, has the number of clicks/bids/winning bids declined or stayed about the same?

I'm guessing they've declined.

If not, it's possibly due to eBay reducing fees over the past year - so therefore there's less revenue to pay out.

August 2012 is my worst month in 4 years. Then again, August has always been a bad month.

Google's algorythms, economic crisis, holidays, competitors, etc.

reece:

Has your WBR declined over the last few months as well? How about click counts?

Have you registered your domain with ePN, so you can get credited for mobile traffic? Is your website usable on mobile devices? What are your mobile visitors' analytics like compared to desktop (increasing? time-on-site? page-views?) ?

In short, you'll want to trace back the changes that have occurred within the last 3 months. On the ePN side you'll want to examine things like click counts, WBR, and ACRUs. ... On your website side, I was emphasizing mobile traffic, but also of course you'll want to note if overall site traffic has changed much.

Do you track outclicks on your end? If so, how have those changed?

Yep, what utrecht said, its my worst month as well and possibly ever since with EPN. But to answer the original posters info, if you have no sales, you have no commissions.

The one thing I would like to ask to help us gauge the decline is you say "massive" income.  Are you talking about more than $1000, more than $5000, etc in income that is now only $100 or so?  I would just like to know the range in drop to see if what you are having is a problem, or just time of year, sales slump, etc.

jeffmace, exactly why I generally stopped replying to these types of topics. You push and push and usually find out that *massive* was $500. Or they say my clicks tanked *tremendously* and after you push, you find they went from 40 to 10.

Did you have any WBR during that time? Talking EPC and clicks is worthless unless you say whether there was WBR? No WBR then nothing for clicks. What was your % of earning to WBR for the month? If your earnings were less than $100 then based on the old payout your should be around 50%. Above $100 then 55%. If it's above that and no ACRU's then the algorithm was correcting for days it over paid you.
