Earnings On Transaction Report?

Earnings On Transaction Report?

I need to analyze Earnings by Custom ID from the downloadable "Transaction Report."

I use an Excel macro to organize the Transaction Report, BUT there are only two $$ columns:  Total Sale and Amount.

Amount does not add up to my Earnings.  Therefore I cannot delete Custom ID's that are not performing well.  Seems like this should be "no brainer" information to provide, but I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks for any help (or understanding),

Wes

So by the looks of this I have to figure out how to merge two different spreadsheets, eh?

It doesn't matter what you merge. Under QCP, specific transactions do not result in specific earnings. What you seek to do is not possible within ePN.

Wes:

Earnings won't show up in your TDR. But for most affiliates, WBR ("Amount" for WBR-Revenue rows) is generally a good metric to optimize by. Unless you're heavy on ACRUs or some of the smaller factors (off-site ads, PayPal revenue, etc. -- unlikely for most folks), WBR is what you should be shooting for, as earnings are typically largely dependent on it.

Many of us find an approximation of earnings being 50%-65% of our WBR on average over a few weeks. Like said earlier, a direct WBR->earnings causal relationship on a daily basis doesn't exist anymore with the QCP payment structure.

When you average your WBR and earnings over an entire month, do you fall within the 50%-65% range?

Thanks, helios, that was extremely helpful! :-D

I'm glad to have a good metric.  Just to clarify, WBR is the "Amount" column, correct?

And yes, my earnings are generally 50-65% of WBR.

Wes

Yep, that's it, Wes. When Event Type is "Winning Bid (Revenue)" then the Amount column is the actual WBR received by eBay in seller fees. ('Amount' can hold other data too, depending on Event Type.)

Check out the nitty-gritty details in the TDR field definition mapping, in the ePN User Manual.
