The thing with wordbay is that you can't set an ebay custom ID with it. But I figured that the way the wordbay clickthroughs are showing up on the tranaction report are the ones that are just showing a page url instead of a custom ID. And I actually have plenty of those...so yes, wordbay definitely works.

Overall I think it's a great plugin. Anyway, since you've been changing and restructuring your sites your income (and maybe traffic?) decrease could very well stem from that. Thanks dennistielmann, I had already desided that by changing and restructuring my site has a lot to do with it, and along with the traffic decrease. But I was also wandering if I was the only one using it. I'm just starting out also. I'll give it a little time, this is my first month working with finishing my sites using wordbay.

Weezee, I am using Wordbay on my wordpress blog and yes, I'm making money. Not a whole lot yet because I'm still pretty new at this. However I also have individual links to Ebay, and I'm not sure if conversions come more from them or from Wordbay. Overall I think it's a great plugin. Anyway, since you've been changing and restructuring your sites your income (and maybe traffic?) decrease could very well stem from that.

I haven't done much with Ebay in a long time... but I'm looking into the new DOD they've got... I once had a very lucrative DOD in europe that was making me really amazing returns... UK customers are far better shoppers online than USA... anyway I think the 'slowdown' is pretty normal for a summer, and everything is a cycle in sales. Up one second then down the next... nothing lasts so you'd best take a number of approaches, intelligence is rare on the internet, so you can clean up with some! Hi! Thanks For Reading.

You can make eBay ads dynamic using any scripting language by substituting keywords in the javascript code in tool like the editor kit, b y using RSS tools, or the eBay API. Adsense does that for you, but that doesn't mean it can't be done with eBay. I already did that. But it's still not the same as Adsense for a forum site.

Also, adsense can show a much more diverse set of listings in each thread, forum section or page because it is dynamic. You are sending them away for a few pennies of AdSense revenue when you could probably make more if you were getting them to click on your eBay listings. Perhaps, but there are a few issues with that assumption. For one, I make 4-5 times the amount of revenue from adsense than I do with EPN. Adsense has more features that ebay does (like link units) that I can integrate cleanly into the code of a forum based site and actually appear like part of the content/site. Also, adsense can show a much more diverse set of listings in each thread, forum section or page because it is dynamic. We can't do that with EPN, so no matter how much work I put into showing listings from various parts of ebay that are relevant to the content, at some point the ebay listings that are shown within threads of one section all are the same over and over again. That doesn't tend to get people to click on them like Adsense does. I'm not sure how to explain that well, but hopefully you get my drift. (It would violate the Adsense TOS for me to use EPN if it did have that anyway). I do have tons of variety of ebay ads that are relevant to the different site sections. Also the EPN javascript banners are buggy as hell. I've already reported bugs that I've found, but yet the bugs still exist. Anyway, my point was that I have had some good success with EPN, but it has definately slowed down. I think in my case a lot of it has to do with the economy in general.

I also have adsense on my site and the google revenue has been steadily increasing throughout the year. Since you also offer Google AdSense ads in addition to your eBay listings and your AdSense revenue is up... I translate that as - visitors to your site are leaving via the AdSense ads and are not returning to your site. You are sending them away for a few pennies of AdSense revenue when you could probably make more if you were getting them to click on your eBay listings.

There may be something that has changed with EPN...revenue has been very slow for me this month compared with months past. However, I also have adsense on my site and the google revenue has been steadily increasing throughout the year. It's not an issue for me with SEO - I run a niche forum site and have spent a lot of time and effort (and some $$ also) making sure that the site is returning well in the search engines. I have noticed that traffic has fallen slightly this month as the summer rolls around, but that happens every year. One thing I've noticed with my site is that buyers in general are just not spending money, which is what you need to have happen with EPN. I have a small classifieds section on my site where people can list stuff for sale - even those guys aren't selling anything. I've also seen a lot of complaints on my site about the direction of ebay in general - the paypal requirements, fees, etc. All of this stuff seems to be contributing to the low EPN earnings. Is this something wrong with the EPN system itself that is affecting us? I think so, but have no way to prove it. But it seems to me that there are a lot of other contributing factors to the lower income levels, although google adsense sure seems to be immune to it all. BTW, the number of adsense clicks I get are often pretty close to the number of EPN clicks.

Yes, which is why I was bragging about the 18 month run.
weezee, sometimes Google Webmaster tools is weeks behind in their reporting. Do the site:www... search from google.com to make sure it's still indexed as of this moment in time.
Also, make sure the keywords you are ranking well for are actually the keywords the general public are searching for. I can think of several keywords and phrases that make most of my sites come up #1, but it doesn't help much if I am the only person on the planet that searches that specific phrase.
Here is a freebie site that will help you research keywords: http ://www.keyworddiscovery.com/search.html

You can check to see if your indexed in Google by going to google.com and typing 'site:www.yoursite.com' into their search box. It won't give you any standings, but it will at least tell you if your indexed or not.
Last month Google b-slapped (deindexed) one of my best producing domains after a 18 month run of top 5 listings. Fortunately, I always buy the .com, .net and .info of the domain when I purchase one and I always use relative links, so all I had to do was bring the .net out of mothballs to put it back where it was in the listings. If that goes another 18 months before I have to dust off the .info, I won't complain.

Are those effected only seeing a drop in Google referrals. There were a larger number of complaints in June 2008 about Google dropping and/or reindexing and sites dropping out of their index for awhile. http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/017366.html or maybe a Bing effect? bing/live/msn whatever send my sites very little traffic compared to google.

The AWStats offered by HostGator's cPanel may show you how many 'hits' you have to your website, but it won't show you how many ePN clicks you have. If traffic to your website is down, that has nothing to do with ePN. Fewer visitors = fewer clicks = fewer bids/bins, etc.
If low-volume to your site is the issue, think SEO and make sure that Google, Yahoo, MSN and ASK know your site is there. Note: All the links below have an extra space after the 'http' so the links will show up in this post.
You can create a sitemap.xml file at http ://xml-sitemaps.com, then register it here:
ASK: http ://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=http%3A//www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml
MSN: http ://api.moreover.com/ping?u=http://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml
Google and Yahoo require you to join their Webmasters tools to submit and monitor your sitemaps:
Google: http ://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/
Yahoo: http ://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/

I also have some sites on Hostgator. I don't have any band sites though. I guess i'm the only one using the wordbay I asked if it was an ok plugin and if any one was making any money using it, no answer. It didn't help me to change over to wordpress. I was doing a little bite with the Editor Kits until they quit showing on my sites and I had to redo my sites.

i would not call it a godaddy problem all mine are on Hostgator. i look at cpanel and epn never comes close to the hits like it use to. there was always a difference but never this far different. I go back to when they were paying double on things and when they corrected that on April 22 mine went flat and has never came back. at first i thought bans sites. but i'm for sure there are bans sites making money. I was already in the process of changing some over to wp. but that has not helped. my concern is that this is affecting only certain ones and that will be hard to find on epn with the millions they have.

But seriously, whoever told you the EK javascripts expire, may be pharmaceutically challenged. I didn't think that sound right. I have never read it or heard it before, of course i'm not that good on codes. I have been with Godaddy since 2007, but It was just a product site no affiliates links.

IMO, GoDaddy has so many restrictions on their 'shared' hosting plans
Actually GoDaddy is a great host (very few restrictions), as long as you don't have a highly DB driven site with lots of concurrent users like a busy forum, those go on ThePlanet or HostGator.
I have one site on GoDaddy that's running about 45K feed displays and 4K EKs and it runs phenomenally even with 3K sites on the server.
But seriously, whoever told you the EK javascripts expire, may be pharmaceutically challenged. Seriously, that's ridiculous. I have thousands that haven't been touched in 4 years or so and work just fine.... on GoDaddy.
