Hello Vicki!!

eBetsy - Yes please send out an email blast to everyone registered to come in here and chime in about the meet & great plans.

I think the consensus so far is to have it on Tuesday night 6/23 at the IBAR at either 7pm or 8pm and have an optional gift bag exchange by ticket (drop off your bag at the sign in and get a ticket and numbers are drawn at a certain time and the gift bags are passed out to those participating) plus we will have ice breaker games too.

Any and all other input is welcome but we need to know how many are interested in doing this from all those registered for the event.

Hi Golden, What ever you do, DON'T TAKE THE BUS TO HOOVER DAM OR THE GRAND CANYON!!! If you're gonna go, book a tourist flight through the canyon, you'll see more of it and be back before you know you're tired. We took the bus & wasted an entire day from very early morning until late at night & 5 hours into it we were wishing we had spent the extra to take the flight. So if you're gonna go, FLY, if you can't afford to fly then don't go, you'll hate yourself for wasting an entire day that could have been spent in Vegas having fun.

Golden,

Again, I can't stress this enough, don't do the bus tour & oh by the way, the so called "food" at the included lunch isn't fit for a dog. Want evidence? Watch your bus driver, he doesn't eat the same slop they offer you.

The Grand Canyon is definetly worth seeing & I'm glad I can say we've been there, but for roughly an hour & a half at the canyon it just isn't worth it unless you fly.

Think about it, are you flyiing into Vegas or coming on a Greyhound?

Having never been to an ebay meet & greet before, I have to ask, what do you put in a typical gift bag for exchange?

Hi Tom,

You can put whatever you want in it. Many sellers put a sample of the product(s) they sell. Some put iitems relating to their state or the products produced in their state. For example, I sell themed note cards so I include some those along with my business card (which has the link to my eBay Store on it) and some Wisconsin products like cheese or maple syrup.

Happy Saturday From Not So Sunny South Florida!

I agree we need to get an idea from the registrant of how many are interested and able to attend the Meet & Greet. Then we can address the gift bags, ice breaking, registration and name tags.
I'm excited to be back in Vegas!!

Hi,

I'm flying in on the 23rd around 3 so the meet & greet sounds good for that night, but what about dinner? Anyone doing anything before or after for dinner? I figure after being on the plane for hours and the time difference (I'm coming from NJ) I'll be ready for dinner :)

hi all! so glad I finally made it over here! There are only 2 of you on here so far that I 'know' so looks like I'll have some serious 'getting to know you' to do in Vegas! GOOD! Thanks for all the info about the Meet 'n Greet and I'll be thinking of my little 'gift bag' now for the exchange. I just got home from covering the ECMTA/PESA summit in Atlanta with eBay & Beyond Radio so I'm just feeling caught up on sleep. Figuring to rest up now so I won't need to sleep much while in Vegas, LOL

Hi Kat, I looked at your me page, where in Colorado are you?? I'm up in Windsor. I'll be driving in that Tuesday so I doubt that I'll get there in time for the Meet. I always have to do In-n-Out Burger my first night in Vegas so that will be my dinner. They actually have one in St George Utah so I won't have to wait until Vegas for my fix!

See My ebay Store, while it lasts...
but I keep buying more stuff!

Regarding any concerns about how many people are going to attend the Meet & Greet...

The Name Tags can be filled out by folks as they arrive at the Meet & Greet.

The Gift Bag Exchange doesn't depend on the number of folks attending the Meet & Greet... folks that are coming to the Meet & Greet AND want to participate in the Gift Bag Exchange will turn over the Gift Bag that they bring upon arrival and be given a ticket to receive another one during the party. (I think Anita has graciously offered to organize this for us)

As far as the Ice Breaking Game... I've got a simple one that I believe will be a fun Ice Breaking / Mingling Motivator regardless of whether 10 people show up or 100 (or more) to the Meet & Greet. *smile*

I hope this helps alleviate some concerns regarding number of attendees to the Meet & Greet.

It would be nice though, to decide for sure WHAT TIME the Meet & Greet will begin (and unofficially end) so we can sorta plan what time frame to do the actual Gift Exchange.

But I agree that if for nothing more than just curiosity, it would be nice to get an idea of ABOUT how many folks will actually be at the Meet & Greet.

Hi Dottie,

We don't know you yet, but then that's what the meet & greet is for, right? You can count us both in as we will be arriving early on the morning of the 23rd & should be well rested & refreshed if not half crocked by the evening! So, there's 2 official attendees for you.9>)

PS What do you put in the gift bags and is there a $$ dollar limit?

Hiya Tom & Charity! Yes we will all be meetin' up at the Meet & Greet for sure. *smile*

Regarding ideas for the Gift Bag... Helen (giraffer) wrote:

I don't recall that there has been a limit on the bags (but I could be wrong)... however, to my knowledge folks don't typically spend much... it's more of a "kind gesture" gift...

I'm trying to think of some of the things I've received in bags from the gift exchange as well as some of the items I've placed into mine...keep in mind that a gift bag can be rather small (easier to pack for the trip) and only have one or a few items in it. I don't think I've ever spent more than about $10 on a Gift Bag... give or take a few bucks.

Bath products such as lotions , bath salts or bubble bath, pretty soaps
eBay themed stuff, Trinket type jewelry (items I was currently selling regularly on eBay at the time), State Souvenirs, Key Chain, BC Powder & Alka Seltzer (for hang-overs... sort of a "gag gift bag theme" for the partier), Disposable Camera, Little Black Book (Mini Address or phone Book to collect contact information of all the new friends or update info on "old" friends), Pens, Roll of Quarters (in Vegas), "Lucky" Casino Chip, travel alarm clock, Mouse Pad...

I hope some of these ideas help.
Really, it's all about keeping it Simple and FUN!

:)
