Regarding ideas for the Gift Bag... Helen (giraffer) wrote:
"You can put whatever you want in it. Many sellers put a sample of the product(s) they sell. Some put items relating to their state or the products produced in their state. For example, I sell themed note cards so I include some those along with my business card (which has the link to my eBay Store on it) and some Wisconsin products like cheese or maple syrup." I don't recall that there has been a limit on the bags (but I could be wrong)... however, to my knowledge folks don't typically spend much... it's more of a "kind gesture" gift...
I'm trying to think of some of the things I've received in bags from the gift exchange as well as some of the items I've placed into mine...keep in mind that a gift bag can be rather small (easier to pack for the trip) and only have one or a few items in it. I don't think I've ever spent more than about $10 on a Gift Bag... give or take a few bucks.
Bath products such as lotions , bath salts or bubble bath, pretty soaps
eBay themed stuff, Trinket type jewelry (items I was currently selling regularly on eBay at the time), State Souvenirs, Key Chain, BC Powder & Alka Seltzer (for hang-overs... sort of a "gag gift bag theme" for the partier), Disposable Camera, Little Black Book (Mini Address or phone Book to collect contact information of all the new friends or update info on "old" friends), Pens, Roll of Quarters (in Vegas), "Lucky" Casino Chip, travel alarm clock, Mouse Pad...
I hope some of these ideas help.
Really, it's all about keeping it Simple and FUN!
