How come some are allowed and some are not?

I do my best to try and help make eBay a safer place. How come when you find a seller listing having some thing in it that is a violation of eBay polices and you report it numerous times and eBay does nothing about it? I am just about ready to quite filling a violation report if nothing is done. I do not think any thing I have reported has been changed or the seller informed. Seems to me eBay allows some to do what ever they want and others are not.

"How come when you find a seller listing having some thing in it that is a violation of eBay polices and you report it numerous times and eBay does nothing about it?"

Excellent question!

As a matter of fact I was searching through some completed listings and came across a seller who actually says that he has the items for sale locally too, and that's an eBay violation, yet he continues to sell.

He also has one price listed, $4.00 for shipping the item, but in the description he states that "I will ship this any where in the lower 48 for $5 with tracking number."

Wow, and It's against eBay policy to charge a buyer more than what is stated in the Shipping price that is listed, yet he continues to sell.

The seller I mentioned also B & M's in his descriptions stating such absurdities as...

"Do to eBay polices of making the seller responsible till item reaches the buyer and the Post Office does not offer ins to most places out of the contry I only ship to the lower 48 US states. Sorry it is not my fault!!!!!I"

I'm betting he doesn't know that it's the Federal Government that places the responsibility on the seller, not eBay, and that Insurance is offered for Hawaii and Alaska and a lot of foreign countries.

He also states:

"I only ship to confirmed Pay Pal address"

Even though that requirement by Paypal was discontinued several years ago.

He then goes on...

"Please keep in mind that eBay and Pay Pal charge me a fee on what I charge for shipping of about 12.5%  which increases the cost of shipping above the absurd price now charged for shipping by the shipper so this has to be pasted on to the buyer in the cost of shipping. The price of bubble wrap, tape, paper and ink keep going up. I do not try to make anything on shipping but have to try and cover my cost! "

Unbelievable isn't it, this seller, who charged a customer $6.00 to ship a set of ignition keys, goes on complaining about a 12.5% fee, and the reality is, the majority of the buyers don't care what eBay charges sellers, they just want their item shipped at a fair price.

On a side note, I mailed a set of keys first class mail with delivery confirmation, and it cost me all of $1.85.

Oh wait a minute, I just realized something...

The seller with those eBay policy violations is you.

"I do my best to try and help make eBay a safer place"

I suggest you clean up your own listings before calling out other sellers violations, it'll give your mild rant some credibility.

You do realize that we can see your old auctions don't you, so saying that I'm somehow mistaken and those aren't your listings is kind or foolish when all anyone has to do is look at your completed auctions.

As for your attempt at a public spanking concerning my 15 feedbacks, I have fifteen feedbacks on my posting ID because eBay allows an unlimited number of posts on these boards for people with over 10 feedbacks.

So, while this is my posting ID, on my selling ID I've been on eBay for 14 1/2 years, am a powerseller and a top rated seller with over 6,500 transactions.

Seriously, your time would be better spent going over eBay's rules and regulations, that way when you do start to list again, you will be in compliance.

As for this thread, if you aren't happy that I pointed out the mistakes in your own listings, then feel free to delete the thread, as the Originating Poster, you are the only one allowed to do that.

List my listings you say I violated police ONLY after the police was made! Yes before the polices where made or changed my past listing will not pass polices that where made after the changes. Get real

I just talked to my 3rd so-called customer service Jenny and what she told me is it is a numbers thing. So if you make eBay enough money you are allowed to do what ever you want. Is this really making eBay a safer place? Will have to see what the BBB, attorney generals office and the FTC have to say.

Why does eBay ask people to help patrol the site if they do nothing about it? I will no longer waste my time reporting violations.

Have to wonder why people need more then one-screen name unless they are trying to covert something up or deceive some one.

Have a nice day.
