Insurance PLUS TRACKING? 1 day shipping, 14 day return

I guess I can kiss my Top Seller rating good bye! I have been selling since 1998, 100% feedback, and currently FIVE STAR RATING in ALL categories. Ebay states that the changes they plan on implementing are what the buyers want; I disagree. I currently DO NOT USE DELIVERY CONFIRMATION or TRACKING, as many of my items are costly, and one of Ebay's newer rules is that the SELLER is responsible for lost or damaged items. So, all my items are shipped INSURED. I DO NOT OFFER ONE DAY SHIPPING. Like many sellers, I have other responsibilities besides Ebay. I DO NOT OFFER RETURNS ON ITEMS. As others have stated, I sell vintage and antique items and do not want my items used, abused and carelessly returned (it has happened).

My buyers are obviously happy customers, even without these services. My feedback and star ratings support this fact. If sellers are forced to add delivery confirmation, most likely they will raise their shipping rates.  If you insure your items, what is the benefit of tracking/and or delivery confirmation? INSURED items CAN BE TRACKED through your local post office. Insurance provides proof of shipping, proof of delivery when checked, and reimbursement if items are lost or damaged. Why would I want to pay extra for delivery confirmation too! I used to be able to upload my insurance numbers for tracking, but as of yesterday, I cannot.

Between final value fees, insertion fees, store fees, Paypal fees and FREE shipping and insurance costs on many items (which I now often offer in order to keep my star ratings up, so as to get my 20% discount), I have seen nothing but increases in EBAY'S profits on my sales throughout the years. Enough!

The PayPal seller protection policy states that you are protected against fake claims of nondelivery only if you provide Delivery Confirmation for transactions up to $250, or Signature Confirmation for higher values.  PayPal further defines Signature Confirmation as "online documentation that can be viewed at the shipping company’s website and indicates that the item was signed for on delivery."  USPS insurance, even at values above $200 where a signature is required for pickup, does not meet that requirement.
