Feedback Board FAQ; Your First Stop for Answers

Jul 23, 2004 8:56 PM
HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE FEEDBACK DISCUSSION BOARD

1. This board provides mainly peer-to-peer support, though eBay representatives
(a.k.a. "PINKS") monitor it and selectively contribute to discussions.
All eBay employees use name@eBay.com as their IDs.
All other posters are your fellow eBayers.
Many people use posting ids on the discussion boards, you can learn why
here

2. If time permits browse or search existing threads.
It is very likely that your question has been answered before,
maybe even in the last couple of days.[search] button is at the bottom of
the screen when you are not inside the thread)

3. If you would rather ask a question, please start a new thread
[Add Discussion] button is at the bottom of the screen when you are not
inside the thread). Post your question into existing thread only when you are
refering to another message in the same thread. Adding a new discussion (thread)
is the best way to get your question noticed.

4. After you posted a question please check periodically for answers. To do so you can
bookmark your thread, use [Search] button with your user ID as a keyword, or simply
browse through pages for the desired date.

5. Do not post user IDs in the title of your thread.
Do not posting personal contact information such as
full names, street addresses, phone numbers or email addresses. It is however
OK to post item number and/or user IDs in the body of your message.
If you refer to a certain auction it is advisable to provide an item number,
so other members can easily locate it and give you better advice.

6. Do not offer speculation of wrong doing of any user.

7. If you wish to respond or ask additional questions please do it within the
discussion you created.Starting multiple threads makes it difficult to help you and is considered
spamming

8. Some posters prefer to conduct discussions solely on the board.
Please refrain from sending private e-mails if you're unsure whether your receipient
will welcome it.It is always best to ask first

9. Whenever possible please avoid typing in all CAPs. Such messages are difficult to
read and they give impression of SHOUTING.If you have a vision problem making it necessary
to use all caps mention it in your opening post so other can type in a larger format to assist
you

suspended indefinitely.

Re: Feedback Board FAQ; Your First Stop for Answers

To clarify No. 5 in the first post: You may post an auction number of a transaction in which you are the seller or winning bidder. You may post the User I.D. of a trading partner if necessary to the understanding of your question. You may not post a User I.D. or Auction Number where you have no transaction or to accuse of a rule violation. If you have reason to believe a rule is being violated, make a report to SafeHarbor, including all available information, and allow the investigators to make that determination.

You would not want to see a post in which your actions or motives are being questioned or you were accused of doing something wrong. Please extend this same courtesy to other members.

As noted in the Board Usage Policy, boards may have additional policies. This board, like some others, has a rule against "off-topic" threads with the exception of a daily chat thread. The chat thread starts at midnight each night, although midnight in the Eastern Time Zone is 9:00 P.M. PDT, so we will permit a thread that begins then. Please confine all non-feedback related discussion to that thread.

If you find the single daily chat thread inadequate, please take advantage of the many General Discussion boards that you can link to at the bottom of this page, or form a Group where you can expand on your discussions.

Finally, a big thank you to dr*tiggerishere and all the other members who have contributed to the creation of this thread.
