Is there "Feedback Etiquette"?

Jul 9, 2004 12:24 PM
Hi Folks!

Gosh this is a fun place! I've gotten some good answers to questions I had that were actually posted by others, so I thought I'd try one on my own.

I've been reading some REALLY bad feelings from sellers about buyers that bug them to leave feedback. So far, I'm just a buyer (hope to be selling soon), and I've only had one seller wait awhile to leave me FB. Now, I don't want to tick anyone off; so what are the rules (if any) about leaving FB for each other? I leave it as soon as I have received my purchase, and because I'm new, I'd like to get over that magic number 10 as soon as I can.

Any thoughts?

No rules. It's voluntary.

I leave it when I receive my item and it's what I paid for.

But is it considered "bad form" to politely ask for FB if it's been several weeks since the transaction was completed and no FB was left? I don't want someone to neg me just because they thought I was bugging them (I've seen that suggestion from a few posters on this board!)

I didn't ask either, at least not in a direct email. I used the follow-up to the pos FB I left the seller to politely remind them that I wanted to know if the transaction went well for him, too.

BTW, pink, cool painting on your ME page. Did you do that yourself?

I leave feedback when my mdse arrives in the condition advertised and in a timely manner.

I leave feedback when I feel like it.

There are some that I won't leave it for...depending on attitude....mine and theirs

wolf,

You can always check when and the type of feedback your trading partners leave and see if they are the type to complain about asking for feedback.

BTW,

Have you left that seller feedback yet? You've received 9 and left 9.
