Small Priority box, not FRB

The small priority FRB is actually a simple re-label of a long time ordinary priority box. The new one says FRB, the old one not.

I have maybe 20 of the old ones.

Any ideas as to how risky it would be to just use them as FRBs (FRB postage) in cases where it weighs over 1 lb?

Yeah, I know they're free, and I know I can discard the old ones, but it seems unpleasant to do so.

if it doesnt say FRB on it, its unlikely the p.o. will recognize it as one

if it doesnt say FRB on it, its unlikely the p.o. will recognize it as one

I've actually heard a counter clerk describe the situation as "we used to weigh these, but now they're flat rate".

I realize that one postal clerk ain't the entire USPS though.

I think so, yes. :)

The real danger isn't local. It's at buyer's end. Unless, and hopefully, they all have a policy of just seeing that size box as being a FRB whether it's a new one or an old one.

sg, what "ordinary" priority box are you referring to? the video boxes are the only ones close to the size of the small frb, but are not the same size

Since I had to un-ignore to see the question, I'll address it.

Go to USPS dot com and order some flat rate boxes with flat rate printed on them.

Use the others for light weight items, or take them to your local PO and donate them to the counter folk. No need to trash them.


Sellers who risk having a buyer charged at the other end for unpaid postage are asking for less than positive feedback.
