Ebay plug in for Excel: Unable to create job: Maximum of job per job type .

Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes.  I'm trying to upload my tracking numbers to ebay using ebay plug in for excel.

When I go to upload current worksheet it shows me the message - Unable to create job: Maximum of one job per job-type in non-terminated state is allowed.

How do I fix this?  I've been searching all over the internet for 3 days and couldn't find a solution.

Thanks...

Hi z35th,

I apologize but the Excel plugin tool is actually being phased out and is no longer supported. I would suggest using the File Exchange program directly as that will allow you to upload files with tracking information.

Seriously, I am mean WTHeck are you guys doing over there??? finally something that nearly worked to make sense of File exchange since your How 2 might as well be in german to make sense of it since there isnt even 1 example item of how it works from a to z nor even a sample  error free example of what a real sheet should look like with all fields filled out with a bunch of listing on it to compare against the one you are struggling  all because of a random comma, or rouge charcter in a field somewhere ... finally the pluggin helped a little  and now after months of  nightmare config and hours  no day of search random boards for answers all because what either you guys are too busy to write an easy getting start FE guide or think not enough users so why bother..... there's 1000's pissed off ebay sellers you have just given up on FE... FIX IT make work in an easy excel template so we can get back to listing stuff and not starring in a empty tech support corner... Maybe we need to phase you boss out and take over to end this damm recession.... 850,000 mom and pop sellers use ebay every month to stay afloat to bring in that $200+ dollars to avoid forclosure ... that's a fact so maybe ebay should invest a bit of my fees into a softeware that with help bring you even more of my money via ... yes ebay profit

eBay Customer Support introduced me to this "answer" to my problem just a few days ago, and sight unseen I cried "Eureka!" I thought it (FE) might be just the ticket for us to populate a program with each book's specifics then upload them individually to eBay at will.  But after reading this, I'm beginning to wonder, and feel rather deflated at the moment. Can anyone assure me that there is reason to tackle the learning curve on this, especially as I am not an expert at the ins and outs of Excel? Thanks.

File Exchange Support Needed
May 29, 2012 01:36 AM

Hi Vestan,

Thank you for letting us know about that. I have attempted to create via File Exchange, and let me tell you that it is a pain in the arse. The biggest problem is that I have to update my listing with the new eBay Motors innovation [ Compatibility ], and for the past weeks that I have been trying to find a way to do it. All my attempts have been unsuccessfull, I'm afraid.

As you are an eBay File Exchange Support, could you please provide me an example, in csv or .xls, so that I can check and have a go to update my listings?

Is there any direct number to contact the eBay File Exchange Department? If there is, could you please provide me that so that I can contact them directly and get this sorted?

Please forward me your reply to afzal@victoriaautoparts.co.uk

Thanks in advance,

Afzal

Hi victoria-autoparts,

I apologize but there's not a template specifically for adding compatibility to listings. However, the File Exchange user guide does cover all fields/values that are used in the files, including compatibility fields. You can find the user guide at the following page:

http://pics.ebay.com/aw/pics/pdf/us/file_exchange/File_Exchange_Advanced_Instructions.pdf

There is info regarding how to use compatibility fields starting on page 23 of that guide.

You can also contact customer support with any questions that you have by clicking the Customer Support link at the top of the eBay website.

Regards,

Without the plug-in working it is too time consuming to add products to my store or complete any of the functions.  Your service is also way too expensive if you are not going to offer ways for people to reasonable manage large files of data.  Most of us smaller businesses are running with limited resources and time.

I guess I am off to Amazon where they have tools that are useable and there are no listing fees (somehow their settlement fees are the same as eBay without the charge per item for listing).  Not to mention the customers on this site think that everything in the world is free and do not want to pay enough to even cover the cost of the product and shipping.
