Discontinued Hair Products you wish they still made!

Why do they make a great product that works excellent for your hair and that other people like also, and then discontinue making it???

I wish they still made Matrix Essentials Sculpting Glaze and Matrix Simply Silk Detangling Rinse. Another fave of mine was the Matrix Vavoom Pomousse

Anyone in the same problem as me??

I believe the shampoo would've been Vidal Sasson Shampoo since it was distributed by P&G (Proctor & Gamble) the same ones who make Pantene, Physique, Pert, Prell, Ivory and the laundry detergents Tide, Cheer, Era and Fabric Products Downy, Bounce, Febreze.

I'm on my last tube of Herbal Essences Shimmery Nights Flyaway Smoother, and can't find it anywhere not even ebay!  :(  It came in a tube like lip gloss and was yellow with sparkles in it (not the same thing as the spray gel listed on ebay).  It's the only thing that tames down my frizz after flat ironing and smells delicious.  If anyone knows where I can find some please let me know.

As a woman with waist length hair, this list could go on endlessly. It seems as though every time I find something I love, it gets discontinued and I'm left at square one.

I will begin with Vibrance Organic care by Helene Curtis, the maker of "Salon Selectives". Conditioner-wise, I had found "the One" On a bittersweet October day I went to my local drug store and it was no longer there beaming at me in its light green bottle in all its glory. I was 17. It may have been my first heartbreak. It smelled great, and I have never since found a product that has worked half as well. I'm still in mourning.

I would like to credit Salon Selectives with probably initiating the incentive to market drug store hair products to specific hair types. Now every line boasts variations to suit different hair types, and none produce the results they promise.

Then, in the late 90's I found St. Ives No Frizz hair repair serum. That precious bottle lasted me most of a year even with this massive head of hair. And just like that it was gone. I bought another partial bottle from a  stranger and used it only on special occasions. I found another two bottles on Amazon, and either the formulation had degraded over time, or the seller had defiled the bottle with another concotion and sold it to me under the pretense of the nectar of the Gods. Either way, this was not the same stuff that had turned my strands into silk.

Clairol had a line of clarifying shampoos and conditioners that I loved in the early 2000's. Loved. And gone forever.

Pantene changed their formulations, as did the original Herbal Essences which were Amazing to use and smell. Vidal Sassoon, Back to Basics Raspberry Almond,  Suave Passionflower... Gone. Gone. All gone.

Everything is so laden with dimethicone now that my hair feels greasy. Even with the higher end stuff. I've tried Wen. Meh.

RIP to all my favorite beauty products. Lipsmackers starfruit flavor, Covergirl lipblush in light, St. Ives Cucumber gel, Burts Bees Green Goddess soap, OPI nail laquer in "Pearls of Wisdom".

I guess it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.  The only thing I have reluctantly learned to somewhat enjoy is the new Herbal essences, "long term relationship", although true to most new products I have to switch off a lot because the buildup is terrible.

Thanks for listening to my shallow first-world rant. Have a wonderful day.

I used Fermo Caresse for years and years, we even sold it in the salon I worked in. Made by Fermodyl.  It was a creamy pink shampoo in a tube. It was 3.5 PH balanced and was the best conditioning shampoo I ever used. I miss it terribly!

I found Silkience in the Dollar Tree just about a week ago! I will go there tomorrow and see if it is still there, and maybe I could send it to you?

My utimate fave was L'Oreal Preference shampoo. They always had some in the hair color boxes, then it was sold in the store shelves. It made my hair awesomeshiny, and silky!

I really miss the original clairol herbal essence shampoo and wish they would bring it back.  If you agree, go to herbal essence facebook (https://www.facebook.com/herbalessences) page and post,  Maybe they will get the message.  I posted a few weeks back and received the reply that although their were no plans to bring it back they would forward on my comments.
