Drinking water does help, just thought I'd share :)

Jan 11, 2008 5:10 PM
I have recurrent yeast infection for a while. It has been very troublesome and really affecting my life.. I've switched bith control pills, used different kind of OTC and prescription cream. It just keeps coming back..

After having 2 UTI, I thought... "am I dehydrated?"

I follow vegetairan diet, eat mainly organic food,I don't eat processed food, BUT.. I don't really drink water.

It has been a big issue for me because I just hate drinking something that is tasteless. However, I started forcing myself to drink water, 2L a day.
I know I just will not refill my glass for a 2nd cup of water so I bought 1.5L and 2L bottles of water and bring it with me to work everyday.

What to do you know... all infections are gone! never came back!
I am going to continue on doing this hoping it will improve my skin (suffering from eczema).

I didn't know dehydration would do so much to our body.
Well, now I know :)

I start with a large glass of warm water in the morning right after I get up, but I add squeezed lemon and just a pinch of stevia to make it a bit sweet. I don't get yeast infections, but I generally feel better if I drink lots of water.

OK....I know I've read posts about stevia b/4--but what is it?! I know it's an artificial sweetener, but is it better than equal? Can you buy it at the groc. store? Enquiring minds want to know.....B-)

And yup--water is a good thing! And when you think about it, most retail sized bottles are 16 oz...so it's only 4 of those per day. (I dunno, to me it sounds better than "eight glasses per day"...!)

Mileysmom, That is exactly the right thing to do. I drink green tea with lemon daily to wash that gunk right through me.:) The lemons the cure all.:) Well not to all but it sure has kept me in pretty good working order for that issue.

No No No...it is a natural herbal sweetener. You can buy it at health food stores or Trader Joes. It's made from the sweet leaves of the Stevia plant. You can buy it as a liquid or powder. A friend of mine has one (plant) in a pot. You can eat the leaves and they are super sweet. Stevia is safe for diabetics as well. If you google it you'll find plenty of info on it. It' been my only sweetener for 12 years now. I use nothing else.

yeast infections are trouble!..I had those more or less frequently ..Stopped using sugar..and drinking any pop..coke..pepsi.GONE !..NEVER HAD ONE IN OVER 10 YEARS!
Yeast thrives on sugar in your vagina..when good bacteria is not enough to fight it.It can happen when you are sick..pregnant..diabetic..or have immune system compromised..
I am sure drinking water is good..particularly for your kidneys and gut..but never heard it to cure yeast infection..

Faithful, I drink lemon water because lemons like other citrus fruit, even though they are acidic fruits, turn alkaline in the body. They help keeping your body's ph in balance. I try to eat as many alkaline or alkaline forming foods a day as possible. If I don't my ph is too acidic and I feel sluggish.

another thing ..someone told me..well..a bit delicate issue..
If your partner likes sugar..and consumes a lot of it..even booze or beer..it will be excreted also in his semen..Well..that goes directly into your vagina, right? LOL

Btw...artificial sweeteners as well as sugar are highly acidic or acid forming. Stevia is very alkaline, another reason why I like it.

Same with us women. We excrete what we consume.

stevia is natural herbal sweetener very highly recommended as it is 10x sweeter than regular sugar..but DOESN'T RAISE BLOOD SUGAR!..which is extremely important for diabetics and those who want to loose weight.

Re water: Try to stay away from store bought bottled water unless it's Mineral Water. Even though a lot of the bottled water carries fancy names, it's nothing more than tap water that is made acidic so it preserves better. Mineral water is alkaline, so is our straight from the tap-water, but drink that filtered.

After my gallbladder was removed, I had terrible acid that crept back up my esophagus. Someone told me to get bile salts but I discovered Lemon makes it go away fast plus it's natural & has other benefits. It has worked so well for me. :)
