I got suckered into going to a Melaleuca presentation last night and wound up buyiing their cleaning package "special". I bought the products because I really would like a "Green" alternative to the stuff I've been using from the grocery store. I DID NOT sign up to be a rep or agent or whatever they call their people, and I have NO intention of ever doing that. I hate multi-level marketing, and I almost didn't want to get involved with even buying the products because of that. Now that I've said THAT, has anyone actually used these products, and if so, what do you think of them? Did I shell out some bucks for good stuff, or did I just get totally conned? And Please, Please, Please, if you are a Melaleuca rep, don't use this thread to try and get people to sign up - I just want opinions of the products! Thanks!

That is funny, I just put melalucea in the browser bar to order more products and I was directed here. I read your post and have to respond. I visited my sister in the bay area who has been a member (signed up) to enjoy the benefits of the products. I just used some of her lotion (renew) and it's the best I ever used. I also noticed her clothes smell awesome and again inquired what laundry soap she was using and she said Melalucea. I have signed up and I enjoy all the products I've tested the mens shaving cream it is fabulous. The dog shampoo is also awesome. I'm not a rep but try some of the other products. I hear the cleaning product are great. The only thing I don't like is that you have to order mixing bottles for most of the high concentrated cleaning supplies. I think you will like them.

My mother has been using these products for years. She has fibromyalgia (forgive spelling if wrong)and cannot use products with scents or artificial colours. She is very sensitive to these and will become very ill. She swears by these products. She would not purchase them if they did not work for her. She does not have a lot of extra money, so they must be worth it.

I have been using and showing the opportunity to others for the last year and I love it. I have no problem with my monthly orders as I use well over the required amount. I think that some people do not get the correct information regarding Melaleuca and then they do not understand how it works. Why wouldn't people want to use better safer products that are priced comparably to the other store. Instead of paying for chemicals, water and ads. you get better ingredients and can also earn money. There is no scam here. We have been in business for 23 years are in good standing with BBB and Chamber of Commerce. Unfortunately for you, you do not see what an amazing opportunity you were just offered especially with the economy the way it is. We are not MLM- we do not sell, you can not buy your place with us, everyone pays the same price ( PC or marketing executives). Good luck to you in the future.

I have been using the products for over 2 years and they are the best I have ever used. As far as MLM, Melaleuca is NOT an mlm company. They utilize consumer direct marketing and no one in the company is a distributor. Everyone is a customer and the company will profit share with you if you refer others to the company as customers. Yes, there is an income opportunity, however it is up to you if you want to pursue extra income. Melaleuca has been awarded the top Torch Award by the Better Business Bureau and they are in the Inc 500 Hall of Fame. This 24 year old company is tremendously successful at bringing these high quality, low costs products to market and just think NO TOXINS... Enjoy the products because after all they are 100% guaranteed or your money back... just go to wal-mart buy a box of tide, use it all up and bring it back and tell Wal-Mart it didn't work, would you get your money back? Well, at Melaleuca you will. )

I just want to share a quick testimony about Melaleuca. Please stay with me for just a moment. On March 18, 2011, I joined Melaleuca as a preferred customer (no selling involved). 2 hours after joining and without trying any products, I went with my daughter to a doctor's appointment she had to confirm her very 1st pregnancy. When the doctor brought up prenatal vitamins, I asked her if she could hold off of the script for them because I wanted my daughter to try Melaleuca's prenatal vitamins since they were chemical and pesticide free. When I mentioned Melaleuca, she told me that Melaleuca's products were amazing and that she, herself, used their products and to go ahead and get their prenatal vitamins. Today is March 26, 2011 and I have been using their Sei Bella skin care line for 4 days now and my skin feels absolutely amazing. Due to the pregnancy, my daughter's skin is a mess. However, she has also been using their skin care line and also the zap it pen for 4 days, as well, and her skin is clearing up rapidly. With all of this said, let me just close with this. "In life, you will find pro's and con's about everything. It's simple. If the products work for you, buy them and if they don't work for you, then do not purchase them." I, for one could care less about making money, but if I find a product that I feel I can stand behind and is also good for my wellness overall, then I will tell people about it. That's just me. So far, I think the skin care line is amazing and will be adding more products to try out. God Bless and no less!

Hi, I just wanted to let u know you were not conn by Melaleuca. I have been a member since 1-2005. Let me tell you, the best decision I ever made. I'm 56 years old, and when I went to school I never saw students with all the illnesses of today. Asthma, zcema, congestive coughs, runny noses. We cleaned with minimal cleaners. Today we cleaned our homes like if we lived in hospital of illnesses. Store bought cleaners contain chemicals very harmful to our health specially children. I'm sure you have hear the myth about dayare, children get sick when they go there after a few months, they claims it's because they (children) carry some many germs. If anybody believes that nonsense, please go get educated.just google bleach, Lysol and most of the cleaners most Americans use in their homes. Why? Cause they believe what they hear and see on TV. Yeah, I did til my grandchildren were born. Oh yeah the myth about that is, if your momma gets heart disease or diabetes so will you. What a joke. If thats the case then we are all related to all the people who have those sicknesses. Only 2 things have change since the 60's and that is our food quality and we clean our homes with more chemicals than ever. Really you might say? Think about when you clean your home with those store bought cleaners most people get headaches and their cheeks turn very red. Wake up . Melaleuca change my grandchildren lives 100%. They were sick but No more. Try it melaleuca you'll love . Your were Blessed .

I use Melaleuca products on a daily basis. I do NOT however, get into the "make a g'jillion dollars in 4 minutes" thing. I'm a dog groomer, and one of my clients sold melaleuca. She had 2 small children, one that needed a heart transplant at the age of 2. Instead of charging her the $160 monthly fee for the grooming of her dog (particular circumstance, hence the enormous pricing), I allowed her to pay me in laundry detergent, etc.
After a few years, she ended up having to move, so another client of mine, who'd borrowed one of my sweaters and loved the smell so much that she wanted whatever it was that I'd washed it in. She started buying if from the chick I was bartering with. That client now sells melaleuca, but not to anyone but she and I.
She joined just so we could have the products. Idk about the company, and don't care. The PRODUCTS are impassable. I've used most of their products now am absolutely hooked. Their cleaning products, which work...REALLY work are diluted up to 32:1, so pint ends up being gallons. The Solumel is fabulous, it took axel grease out of a chiffon Kate Mack dress that Katie was going to be photographed in (in 20 minutes). It took candle wax out of her teddy bear (her idiot father did that...she's my baby cousin, lol), the "Tough and Tender" cleans everything from fridge shelves and countertops to laminate wood flooring without streaking. That's a BIG deal.
The tub and tile cleaner will eat through the toughest lime...I have a well, very hard water. (that stuff's like 6x concentrate, like the laundry detg)
Their soaps? Luxurious..really. I use the Platinum Bar and the hubby uses Alloy. The Renew skin therapy lotion is better than the stuff the dermatologist gave my Scottish mother for her dry skin and now HE'S recommending it to patients. (I do believe that some people have allergic reactions to something in the lotion, I'm not one of them)
The only thing I'm not huge on is the smell of the disenfectant. It smells like oregano. I like oregano, but not on everything. I DO use it in the kennel however, the dog's dont seem to mind it nearly as much as lysol or bleach. They make a wrinkle releaser, but idk if I'm really sold on those..I live in high humidity anyway, lol.
The company? I know not, means nothing to me. The products? WORK!
OH, I don't use my dishwasher cause it's not as good as I am, so I tried their dish soap. It cuts grease just like Dawn, BUT, takes a third of the water to rinse it. Dawn leaves a slime coat that must be rinsed and rinsed...this stuff doesn't. Even on heavy grease like bacon or fried chicken!
(lol, gosh, sounds like a sales pitch..the perfume smells horrid, there ,lol!)

I've been a preferred customer since May 2008. The only drawback I see is the minimum purchase requirement. Some months I have to stockpile to make the quota. I am in a living arrangement where I don't have to purchase many cleaning supplies. I use some of the supplements, but only in small quantities. Some I can't consume because they contain products I am allergic to (Caffeine, chocolate, etc). I may end up closing my account, but it is only because it is getting too expensive for me.

Just because something is natural, does not mean it is safe. For instance, sodium is a naturally-occuring mineral. Yet in its pure form, it is highly explosive, especially in large amounts. ----------------------------------------------

Hi debdewaltoff, like you, I was suckered into Melaleuca, I was mislead into joining @ a cheap membership - I have no intention to be a Marketer nor do I need an autoshipment every month - it was more than I can consume. The person who got me into it apparently deceived me by giving me false information and tricked me into autoshipment w/o my knowledge. Over the long run I would be happy to use all their product, because of their trickery - I cancelled my membership as quickly as possible. I complained to Melaleuca about the Representative but no action was taken, nor do they respond. Seems to me like they are a 'fly by night' company. I must say this company will run into trouble once their tactics are exposed.

heaven_draven, agree with you totally. My shampoo last me 3 - 6 months. With Melalueca they post you products worth $120 per month - mouth wash, tooth paste, laundary detergent - consumer pls consider if you get the same product every month it gonna cost you $1 per wash not 17cts etc as they claimed. Without these auto shipment, you probably don't hv to spend that kind of money. Honestly I don't agree with autoshipment - its like being having a knife push down our throat. Melaleuca products costs much more than any other products, and who can guarantee that it is environmentally safe? There are many other products that are ES at a fraction of Melaleuca's product.

Have no doubt about the quality of the products, just don't like the way the Sales Representatives deceived one into the scheme. Also the autoshipment seems very exhorbitant.

I've been contacted to sign up for this company and it's products. That is what caused me to search for the pros and cons. There is a normal reality to an open forum such as this. The first few posts are somewhat random sampled responses as those who would be seriously searching for product research. I noticed by the 2nd and 3rd page, it was swamped with nothing but positive viewpoints. I would only suggest that one consider the type of communication that these organizations have to "get the word out" whenever a forum is started which may turn against their beloved company. If you have read this far, you are an astute shopper and wise consumer. I just wanted to add my two cents that there is a stronger chance of an "organized" response team that would show favoritism for the product than there would be "one by one" random people searching and responding negatively.
I also agree that if a product is strong enough there should be no reason to not sell it along the shelves of the supermarket. The very fact that you are agreeing to purchase a contracted amount each month leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I don't want to be forced to purchase. If the product is so good and the reps are so convinced that you won't have any problem spending that amount per month. Why aren't they the ones taking the risk and making it an open purchasing policy? I will not be signing up for this. And the fact that I have to feel like I am weezeling out of a "friends" high recommendation also leaves me uncomfortable. Companies like this are wrong on so many levels.

It sounds like you've already made up your mind about Melaleuca, and the products, before even trying it. You may or may not like the products you got, it's like any store, some things are more to your liking than others, but overall, I think Melaleuca products are better than any I've used anywhere. I use to sell Melaleuca, but was working full time, so quit because I didn't have the time. They have good training, and good proudcts, and yes they're a MLM, like most companies around, AVON is MLM, and so many others, because it works, and people DO make money with it. MLM has had a bad wrap, and people think it's something illegal because they don't know the difference between MLM and a pyramid scheme. MLMs sell products or services or information, pyramid schemes, which are illegal, don't provide anything, just names to send money to, and you get nothing in return, except the promise of a lot of money. I've never known anyone to make a nickel off it, and it is a scam of the biggest sort. There are a lot of people in legitimate MLMs, making PT incomes, to 6 digit figures, depending on how hard you want to work, but nothing happens over night, so if you're looking for a get rich quick thing, this isn't it, you actually have to work at it, but they give you the tools and a personal coach, and great training and help along the way, and all for an initial start up fee of $29, plus your monthly products, I don't know of any other company where you can get started for such a low cost. I have quit my job and plan to start selling Melaleuca again, maybe in the next couple months, since I do love their products, and want to make an income while getting them at a discount. I know people who make a lot of money doing this, and since I'm not working, I can devote more time to it, and know that I can succeed. I research everything very well, since there's so many scams out there, and Melaleuca came away with flying colors, the company, the products, and the way they run things, I'd do my research if I were you, before believing a lot of the junk out there. Also, a lot of people think they can't keep up with the minimum order, but it's simple, you just swap products you're already buying in the stores, and personally, I like most Melaleuca products better than anything I get at the grocery store. I love Renew lotion, their sweet & salty snacks, cereal, toothpaste, laundry soap, stain remover, and just about everything. I had a bottle of their Melaleuca oil, and burned myself, so put that on it, and it immediately stopped burning, didn't blister, nothing, great stuff. I'm single, and I really worried about covering points, but I always have, since I use their vitamins too, and just about everything they sell that is sold in the stores, by just swapping products. I can make money easily with Melaleuca, because they have excellent products, that are concentrated, so not only are they free from toxins, they actually end up saving you money in the long run, and I really believe in the company and their products. As with anything, there will always be people who will complain, and most of them have never ever tried it, so if you don't want to try it, then don't, but no one can have anything to say if they've never even used the products. Just like with anything, there may be a few products you don't like, I don't buy them all, but I do buy most of them, and I swear by them, so it irritates me to hear such negative comments about such a good company, and such good products. I also have to say, no one can "sucker" you into doing anything you don't want to do, or make you buy anything, and while opinions of people you don't know are fine, why don't you just use the products you bought, and make up your own mind? If you give it an honest chance, I think you'd end up liking their products, If you don't even want to try it, and just want to complain, then you should just return it, they'll take it back, as for myself, I have nothing but good things to say about this company, I can't say that about most things I've tried, and NO, I am not a Melaleuca distributor, I just use their products, but I plan to be at some point, and soon.

I have been contacted twice in the past 5 years tested the products and we still have the conclusion.... it doesn't cost less when you're obligated to buy a certain amount per month that takes more than a month to use up even if you alternate the products for the avg person unless one of the objectives is to stock pile a years supply like the doomsday scenario advocates really buy into.
And is it coincidental the the CEO\founder of Melaleuca happens to be a devout Mormon ... which the LDS Church strongly encourages their members to stock pile one year of supplies for in case of a sudden catastrophe ?

You have to submit a written form to get then to stop sending you products, Their thing is you have to buy $70 worth of their products each month, so If you don't choose which products you want, they'll send you junk you don't need anyway and charge you for it. I've tried their products and thought they were poor at the very best. Call your friend who took you to the meeting and have her get the cancellation forms and get out of that outfit ASAP.

I am trying to locate an agent through which I can place an order. Can anyone on here help me? It seems this is getting harder and harder---each time I go to reorder the one item I use from Melaleuca, I cannot find an agent to help. I am NOT interested in signing up as an agent--there is only one product I use and I usually buy it in large enough quantities to last my family for a year.
The agent will usually establish a 3-way call with the distributor, authorize the order to her account, and I then place the order and supply the credit card to the distribution center. It doesn't seem that would be a hard thing to do, but apparently the incentives are not to sell, but to sign people up.
If anyone will help me with this, I (and my grandson) would be most grateful. You can email me at lbg8994@gmail.com.
Thanks!

I ahve been with Them for 10 years as a customer and I love the products. I have so many positive things to say I dont know where to start. Also they are not an MLM. They intentionally structured the company so as not to be an MLM. The company does not want to be lumped in as "just another MLM company". Also they were green long before amway and any other company. They have been around 27 years now and have been green since day 1. There cleaning products a child can drink and et nothing more than an upset stomach. I recently started the business and its great. I help people chhose a more cost efficeint product that is safe and they pay me to do it. Their Vitamins have a patent called Oligo. They absorb better then those cheap walmart or centrum vitamins. It would take 33 centrum pills ot 15 one a days to get the same absorption of vitamins and minerals as their vitamin. I could say so many more positive things but I do not think they will give me space. The person who had all these issues with getting a business kit not knowingly and the whole order they did not order i don't know. They were probably told about the backup order( In case you forget to order so you do not lose your privileges) and werent paying attention. The business kit is what the $29 dollar enrollemtn fee is for so im sure they werent paying attention then either. The business kit doesnt mean you are doing a business. It is an introduction to the company and has a product catalog and a dvd with some customer testimonials. They grew 94 million in sales last year to 1.1 billion and have paid 3.2 billion out in sales commissions to their marketers. Thats the truth.

There's a lot of drama on this thread for no reason at all. Here is a quick fact for you:
1) you can temporarily suspend your account for a few months, if you have too much, without losing your membership.
2) and this one is the best one, you can now SHARE YOUR ACCOUNT with someone else. All you do is add them to your account, and they can order anytime they want on their own credit/debit card, not yours. Definitely glad that Melaleuca cared enough to do this, because now I don't have to meet the 35 base points anymore.
I was about to cancel my membership, and then I found out about this.
My neighbor did cancel, so now she purchases her items through my account. PERFECT!
