I would like to try mineral makeup. There are a number of companies that made mineral makeup. Has anyone tried them, any recommendations?

I'm very happy with this mineral makeup. No bismuth, it's waterproof and sweatproof, but washes off easily with cleanser or any soap. The coverage is wonderful. It's never chalky either. I give high marks to Mineral Hygienics. Check out their website. I won't use anything else. Good luck!

BE works best for me. Not shiney and doesn' t itch on me. There are alot of mineral makeups out there though.

Also be aware of the presence of nano-particles in mineral makeup. I came across an article about nanos in sunscreen, and it mentioned mineral makeup. They're also referred to as micronized particles. You can search or ask each company whether or not they're an ingredient.

I use Bismuth Free mineral make up from Aromaleigh, Everyday Minerals and Meow Cosmetics. None purchased on eBay but from their websites. They have samples, very cheap.

I'll never use liquid foundation again.

I tried BE once at Sephora and had to remove it in the bathroom at the mall. It burned and itched and glowed.

Bare Escentuals which is the best seller has two problems for me. It does contain bismuth and it makes me itch and makes my skin red.

BE is also way to shiny. Maybe if you are 18 you can get away with the shimmer look, but not if you ar much older.

I have tried a LOT of the different mineral makeups. I found Signature Minerals to be the best. Doesn't cake, colors are right and the price is great.

If you google "how to make mineral makeup" you will find all sorts of ways to do it yourself. It also gives you a good idea of how the makeup is made, how much it costs etc. For example, most of the "veils" are cornstarch, which is an excellent finish and oil absorber, but not worth $$$$ a gram.

The previous poster is correct, stay away from any makeup with bismuth oxychloride. What I use is Mineral Hygienics. I'm very happy with this mineral makeup. No bismuth, it's waterproof and sweatproof, but washes off easily with cleanser or any soap. The coverage is wonderful. It's never chalky either. I give high marks to Mineral Hygienics. Check out their website. I won't use anything else. Good luck!

I have never used mineral makeup, but I would like too. I have too much makeup that I need to use already. However, I have heard to stay away from anything containing bismuth because it makes a lot of people ITCH! You'll find plenty of suggestions on the Best and Worst thread. I hope this helps. ---------------------------------------------- Earn cashback from all your favorite online retailers! List your eBay Store for FREE! It's completely 100% Free to join!
