Vintage Flournay Vivante Powder vs Perfume Value

Vintage Flournay Vivante Powder vs Perfume Value

I have two boxes of 1923 French Vivante Powder by Flournay. One is still sealed, on the other the paper seal is torn. Boxes are excellent. I could not find any examples of the powder on an internet or ebay search. I did discover that the matching perfume (which I don't have) has sold for thousands of dollars! The bottle is beautiful. The powder is in a cardboard round box. Both are pictured together in a 1923 ad that I just purchased on ebay.  I would assume that anyone with the perfume would also want the powder which appears to be very rare also. I'm sure a good portion of the perfume's value is related to the beautiful bottle but how would I decide on a price for the powder compared to the perfume? Printed on the box: Poudre Fleur Vivante Naturelle Flesh Lournay inc. Does anyone know the value or know of a good reference? Thank you!

Sorry for the error! I don't know how I came up with "Flournay" instead of Lournay. Perhaps that's the reason that there were no replies. I went ahead and listed it, but under my other ID.. Toylover5.

Hi, Vivante's luxury edition perfume bottle was made  by Julien viard, a very famous scultpor who created perfume bottles similar to Rene Lalique during the 1920s. His creations often sell in the upper hundreds and thoudands because they are unique and rare pieces of history. I have seen the powder box before over the years, though it will not attain such high prices like the perfume flacons, it may do well around $125-$200 because of its rarity and collectibility.

Vivante and Fleur Vivante are two different perfumes. Fleur Vivante came out in 1920, and Vivante in 1923. By 1923, they were shown together on an ad, probably to introduce the luxury edition of the perfume and to entice people into buying the powder too.

Thank you for all of the great info! Re: Value .. That's what I was thinking, just as a guess, and it's good to have it confirmed!
