oh yeah, and it's the "Spain guy". His email address is alfderos@me.com or "Alfred R." His user id on ebay is "guitbabonn" ....at least it WAS when he tried to scam me. Beware, yes "spain" is still at it!

"and I wouldn't complete a transaction unless it goes through PayPal"

So you get 'paid' by paypal, using funds from hijacked PP accouts, which are then reversed. The spurious 'safety' that PP trumpets is one reason why these frauds continue. That and the fact they have a victim pool consisting of people who are both rich (by their standards) and amazingly naive.

The only way to be more or less safe from this sort of fraud is to take bank transfer only. Even then it is not 100% safe, but it is far more difficult to set up the required infrastructure to hijack bank accounts and there is far more protection for victims.

I have received the same email offers from a guy named Eric in Spain wanting to use this escrow service. The initiating email and the second email are word for word the same as those listed below. Don't do this.

Report the ebay ID used for false contact info. Getting the id closed down may just save someone else who does not know this fraud.

Mike, I am also new to the international selling, I just received an email in regards to a ring i just listed for $2000 someone in Spain. I told him to bid on ebay, he does not want to and says he wants to do the purchase with esafe-holdings.com. I came to this site to see if it's a scam. Can someone help me?

I'm getting the same emails word for word on a $4,000.00 item. I keep telling him to F off but he keeps trying.

I have been Ebaying for over 5 years. And I only do PayPal for payments and I only ship to a confirmed address.

I have never had a loss becouse I stick to this.

Hi, Mike. I had the same thing happen to me. I am including the email I received, does any of it sound familiar?

I'm very glad that the item is still available!
First of all I want to apologize for my english and for
my late answer, I was out of town with some business.
I decided to buy your item so please tell me if it`s
necesarry to bid on it.
Like I said you in my first email I want you to ship it
via FedEx International Priority (3 days or so) because
I need it fast.
Because I want to be safe for both of us
we will close this deal using www.esafe-holdings.com
A very trustable and professional escrow service.
This service will protect both of us.Please go to
Esafe-Holdings website and open a new account with them.
Then INITIATE the transaction and please include the ebay
item# on the description.
I'm already a member and I'm waiting for you to start
the transactreion. For inspection period I think 2 days
(from the day I receive the package) it`s enough.
When you start it please put shipping insurance on the step 2
because I want them to insure the package too, I`ll pay.
After you will start the transaction you will see that
I'm a serious person and I have closed 8 positive
transactions through them.

Best Regards,
Erik K.

He's still out there! Same scam. Forgot his lies from earlier today. Totally disregarded my inquiry as to WHERE in Spain. I checked Express ship to Spain via fed ex; 88.00.
Fed Ex has comp insurance up to 1K. This bozo claims that it will cost him 150.00 plus cost of insurance. What an insult to my intelligence. Oh, he has a zero feedback rating and evidently does not use English as a first language either.
Pity th folks who fall for this semi-pro scam artist! Obviously his esafe holding site plus the great reviews are all his creation as well! If you are desperate to sell, go to a pawn shop! At least you'll get something instead of walking away with absolutely nothing!

"He's still out there! "

Nobody reads the perishing threads, do they? Just a glance at the OP and paste their identical story on the end, complete with the identical misconceptions. No wonder the frauds continue despite all the publicity, people just can't be arsed to do a bit of basic reading to protect themselves.

There is no one person, its a boiler shop like operation, a fraud production line. Report the ebay ID used for false contact info.

I think people are happier with the image of their own personal fraudster villain, sort of a self worth thing, and probably the most interesting think that has happened to them for months.
