Welcome to the "New" Boards!
Feb 10, 2005 06:13 AM
Hello everyone!

Welcome to the redesigned boards! In addition to a new look, there are some
great new tools:

* The ability to search across all boards at once with an "Advanced Search" feature.
* New icons so you can tell at a glance whether a topic is prioritized or locked
* New "smiley" icons
* The ability to "watch" discussions and be emailed when they update
* The ability to save a signature file under "Settings" that will automatically appear with your posts

We would like to discuss any questions that you may have concerning these changes. Please join eBay Staff Tuesday, February 15th at 11:00 PST for the Community Hub Page Redesign workshop here:
http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?threadID=410457624&tstart=0

In the meantime, please feel free to leave your comments here so that we can have a better idea of the things you'll want to ask in the workshop on Tuesday. :)

Thank you!

Well, tyrian, "ancient" HTML would let you increase the font size on a relative level (relative to the base size provided by your computer system), with a maximum of "+4". Now, with style sheets, you can do almost every nonsense, like making letters THAT big. -- Value is in the eye of the beholder. Especially on customs forms.

Oh! It works in the preview, but they're filtering it out for the forums... -- Nicely done. btw, "preview" actually means you see what you get before submitting it. But you don't see what you get in the preview. :( -- Value is in the eye of the beholder. Especially on customs forms.

If this is of any use: http://forums.ebay.com/db2/rssmessages.jspa?threadID=410470226 error: XML parse failed. syntax error. (from an RSS reader) error: XML file does not contain any style information; displaying it as plain XML (text format). (freely translated from an error message the German version of Firefox delivered) Diagnosis: Declaring something as "version 2.0" should not be done when one is unsure about using the features of version 2.0, and not knowing that RSS readers will consider that as "strictly applying to standards". -- That's the main reason why I'm still using HTML 4.0 transitional/en, or even earlier versions, instead of "strict". But XML doesn't allow such flaws. -- Value is in the eye of the beholder. Especially on customs forms.

I am probably in the wrong plave but have spent too long trying to get there. I want to whinge about all the items I see for sale but when I follow up it says US shipping only. why do they allow the ad on our eBay if we can't buy it?  Check out brass /all categories or Brass/ decorative  or brass/animaals  etc and every animal you find will be from US and not mailing outside US.

kitvale - It's not a good idea to bring up a Thread such as this which was posted years ago.  It only confuses people.

As for Sellers not wishing to Sell outside of the USA they have a perfect right to Sell to whom they want to.

If you are seeing those Sellers who wish to deal within the USA Only perhaps its a glitch in the system.  We keep getting posts on here from Sellers who have been contacted from Countries they don't want to Sell to.

You shouldnt take it personally if someone doesnt want to Sell to you.  Sellers have all kinds of reasons for not wanting to Sell to Buyers in another Country.  In your case it doesnt mean they don't like you because you are in Australia. I'm in the UK and I've had one or two Sellers in the past who didnt want to sell to me.

I respected their choice and moved on.  There are lots of other Sellers who will Sell you, unless of course you're wanting to buy something which is unique.  Hope that helps.:)
