Accentuate the Positive
Aug 3, 2009 10:53 PM
I know it's a tough and interesting time in our lives these days, but, I'm seeing a lot of pessimism and anger in many of the posts and threads. That's okay with me, there are a lot of reasons to be angry and pessimistic, and lots of threads to express that on.

This is about just accentuating things with a positive spin on them. Beware, I am just full of good things to say about anything I can find good in. If that drives you nuts, don't check in here, it will only irritate you.

This is about real life, and if you're having a bad time, okay, share, I'm sure you will find people who will sympathize. This is a thread where if you're mean spirited, I hope you will find another thread to express your orneriness on. Not this one. This is about conversation, compliments when appropriate, camaraderie and fun.

Do I have bad days? Oh, yes, and as I said, there are a lot of threads to express that on.

So, welcome to anyone who would just like a place to have fun, share something good, anyone who just would like come and say "hi, I'm having a good day and this is what's good about it".

When you post a thread like this one, you're really "sticking your neck out". If it disappears in a day, I won't take it personally.

This is an invitation to express your happiness and joy. Live is far too short to not share those things. imho

Positive for the day: found a pair of jeans that fit, comfortable, and flattering(ok, don't make look fat) and for a good price. (hard to find all those attributes in a pair of jeans.

Not so positive: Sense of helplessness in trying to find some kind of comfort for Angel.

To the being unhappy or saddenned or whatever word is used about bickering etc..

Here's everyones choices:

1) ask people to stop (some of us will never darken your doorstep again if asked to leave)

2) if you feel a well wishes for a specific person is needed, I always recommend their own "home" thread so they can update, and people's sole goal is to help and uplift them (Ive seen it on other boards and it's very sweet)

3) You can live and let live and NOT get upset if the ignore feature is used (It wasnt that long ago was it now when that was done with me and that was acceptable <shrug>;)

4) Some of us are not the sugary sweet syrupy types..we just aren't..we can apologize for our personality defects till the cows come home but really you folks accept some who have been out and out mean to your friends so if some of us bicker from time-to-time is it necessary to call out some on it?

5) Lastly some of us are operating from hurt feelings ..(for a number of reasons) and not everyone has people they can talk to so if sometimes me or anyone comes across the wrong way or a way you dont like..there's always an ebay message or just asking..it's hard to be alone with all your problems and maybe sometimes , just sometimes when someone says something wrong or bickers, they operate from that place. Doesnt mean they dont care or  is mean or hard hearted or vendettaish or whatever...means they operate from a different place.

That's my take for those reading who don't have me on ignore! lol

Ty Barri....I understand and I can see there is a closeness among most of you and I think that is pretty cool. I also can stand beside you and admit that, I too, am not christian. I do have my own beliefs though that I live my life following. Most are the normal, simple rules of life, honesty, faithfulness, kindness, understanding, sometimes forgiveness, patience, love. You don't even have to be the sugary sweet syrupy type (guess you're not on ignore Book) of person to acquire any of these traits. Most people with morals already have them. I may not be of christian faith, but I have faith that if I stick to my morals, then my life with continue to be full of peace and happiness. I also see that many here have their own morals not so different from mind no matter what faith they belong to. That's why I like so many of you, but it makes it hard too, seeing the bickering. I've already decided awhile back when I seen this in another post, too ignore and not take sides, and I will continue to do so. But I must also say, that if I have something to say, I will say it and if I don't like something, or it makes me sad, I should be able to say that too!

People bicker..being human and all..fallible..part of being human..

All people argue at some time in their lives...why expect onlin folks to be any different or above being human somehow?

The most wonderful thing about Timelords, is Timelords are wonderful things. They're wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun! But the most wonderful thing about Time Lords is: I'm the only one! Jack: What's that over there? Looks like another Time Lord to me.

Maybe as I get to know some of you better then I might have just cause to argue back. But until then, I watch, observe and learn. I'm just curious as to why you are taking my statement of "seeing it saddens me" to anything other than what it states? I course I know it happens in real life and online. I don't like seeing it in person, why would I like seeing it in text? Just because I don't like it doesn't  mean I'm some sugary sweet syrupy type of person who lives on some fluffy white cloud dreaming of just all good thing possible. If I'm not able to say anything with out feeling like I'm being backed in the corner because I'm saying the wrong things, then maybe I don't belong in here.

P.S....I'm due for my period, so maybe tomorrow I'll feel better!

Goldie, one thing I do, is I have my settings on showing "newest first".    When you have it set like that you will see the last post first, and then on down, it saves a ton of scrolling.

tlynn and Dandy, thanks for the info on your back problems.

Lynn, it sounds like yours are complicated with that sinus thing.   Sounds scary.!

Dandy, thanks for all the positives, I don't know how you manage that when you're in pain almost all the time.

Dh came home from the doc, and the discs affected are low back, and he didn't get as much info as I wished he had, but he just said the discs are "sticking out" so the doc will be sending him to an orthopedic doc as soon as he can get an appointment and they will go from there.

barrimorrigan, thank you, you say such nice things.   I do want everyone to feel free to post here, and I'm not in favor of walking on eggs, so it doesn't need to be a fearful thing to post.

As bookbugg said, and poopey, we are all human, and have our ups and downs.   I don't know anyone who is "up" all the time, I think I would worry about someone who is totally care free.

Wouldn't it be nice though?

Ladies, I missed a few things.  I know I can be hard to pain in the butt.  Wednesday, me and DH go to the atty.  Have a lot to give him.  My disability claim.  My dad's problems and yes I forgot there is something else.  I feel better mentally since I finally called the atty today.

My DH is going to give me a cat for Christmas.   Found the cat listed that I want at the old shelter I volunteered for.  He is neutered, and ready for a new home.   May see about adopting him on Wednesday.

Never mind..I shouldnt have said anything..of course you belong..you talk to enough of these folks to know you do. and you also know I dont ..so I said something about it because even though the title says positive, there has been, in the history of the thread some arguing, hurt feelings etc because well, human beings feel that too.. That's it..no hidden meaning, agenda , meaning for you to leave or dont belong etc

Also if you read back I do believe someone else said it saddened them or somethign along those lines as well so it wasnt personal against you..it was a general thing..

I guarantee you and everyone else I am not going to post the way you and others will like all the time..I also have tried to change my personality for this board a couple of times and guess what, that's hard to do ..so this is me, I say stuff you and others may not like but then again I think Id rather be me, feel free to talk just like you and everyone else...

And anyone who doesnt like me or how I talk or anything can ignore me..Im fine with that and will never tell anyone not to...and as you will find Goldie most have me on ignore :)

It is very positive to see Angel decorating for Christmas when she may not feel like doing so..

I am positive that there will always be some arguing..

I am positively jealous that cat is getting a new Christmas kitty..   how wonderful!

I am positive that I will not be or have not put the Buggy on ignore.

I am positive that I might put someone else on ignore as I have watched that poster come to a board >> and the OT threads have been squashed due to  constant arguing  and nonsense......  T & S, Buyer Central,  this is only my experience but for me it may be best to that.

Cat, I am not sure what an atty is but I am hoping that would be an Attorney.

Take lots of pics to share of your new kitty when you get him/her.

It would be fun to see how Betty's boys are growing and handling the wonderful attraction of a Christmas tree with lights and dangly things to play with.

I think my new kitten will come to me in the spring some time but I do enjoy hearing about others.

Buggy might also enjoy hearing about others pets until she is ready for her own again.

We are going to get a rescue kitty.  The one I found is so cute.  His name is Malcom.  He is neutered and microchipped.  I am looking so forward to getting him.  We will see on Wednesday  when we go to the atty which is what you all thought it was.
