Does anyone know whether lobby cards (11"x14") are ever copied and sold as reproductions (or as originals, perhaps
)? I've seen prints of half-sheets and one-sheets and various other sizes sold here in the Reproductions category, but not of lobby cards to my knowledge. The reason I ask is that occasionally I pick up (not necessarily from eBay) a set of 8 lobby cards from the 40s or 50s that look like they just rolled off the press, i.e., almost too good to be true for their age of 60–70 years. Is there any possibility that they're actually reproductions masquerading as originals, or is it more likely that they've just been kept under cover and well protected since they were first printed? (I've never bought any posters that didn't claim to be original.)
