You people here are all readers. Write something!

I would describe my interest in movies in being less than average, but an interest, nonetheless.  I recently replied to a post about movie press kits.  There was about 30 reads and exactly zero posts.  I wrote a comment in response to the question, and then I said this:

If everyone who read your question and didn't reply comes back now, we will soon be up to 60 views.

Amazingly, that's exactly what happened, and at time of this posting, there was 77 views there, but only my single post.

I posted my own question about movie websites.  62 views.  0 posts.

A Jim Henson autograph question.  165 views.  0 posts.

A post about Dinkelman backpacks.  265 views.  1 post.

Iron Man replica suit.  191 views.  0 posts

Looking for certain movies...   145 views.  0 posts

Don't any of you have anything to contribute?!  How can you read so much and be speechless?  How can you really have nothing to say?  Enlighten me.  If you wish to attack me, fine, but I will ask what positive replies you've made.  What is the point of having "Movies & Memorabilia", if no one says anything?!

I eagerly await - your silent treatment.  :_|

Soooo, you just want people to post a comment even if they have no info or help to give?

Yes, in that sometimes just a comment, an observation, or a shared experience is nice.

How can 165 people read something and not one has anything of value to say?  That defies logic.  Especially when these are people of a common interest in movies in the first place.

Dats whut I thinck, but hey, it was nice of you to speak up.  :-p

There are several reasons why there might not be replies. The website discussion forums may not have been imbedded(or other cyber jargon) incorrectly so they don;t record people's comments. Or.. they may have messed up in how they formatted it, such that after 150 viewers make comments, then it clicks back to zero comments.

Or... The question is still up but no longer active, i.e. it is not logging and saving comments.

Or... your numbers may be off: 20 views might actually be 5 people who viewed the item 4 times each... hence the number 20.

As well, some people are just looking around the internet at interesting questions and discussion pages on dozens of sites, so they don;t take the time to pause and write replies, answers, further questions, etc.

I see your inquiry here on eBay Discussion Board is getting views and replies, so your average is already improving!!!

Boy, I'm not sure what the question is here, but since I have about 10 minutes until the Ambien kicks in:

(1)  I met Walter Murch up close and personal last year. I shook his hand, clasped it, really, for an uncomfortably long period of time, looked into soulful eyes deep and scarred from working with Francis the Tortured Artist, and said...absolutely nothing.

(2)  Although theses have been written on "Werckmeister Harmonies," I cannot get a discussion going as to why Pachelbel's Canon plays during a certain scene in Noe's "I Stand Alone."

(3)  How do you arrange your movies?  By director, actor, region?

(4)  From 1985 through 200?, I was TV-less.  After watching "No Country for Old Men" at the theatre, I finally broke down and bought a TV simply for watching movies.  I also collect and toss and  1958 quarters as an homage to Javier Bardem's character.

(5)  I cannot get enough of Eastern European film and filmmakers.

G'night.

Are you talking about Walter Murch, the sound editor on films or Walter Murch or Walter Slater Murch, the film editor. Both worked on Apocalypse Now. Or is there another Walter Murch?

I used to arrange my films in a unique way... director with actor and used the actor to bridge to another director. So, you know, Michael Bay would be bridged to Simon West by Nicolas Cage, for example. My wife made me knock it off... she said only I could use that system, so now they are alphabetical, but divided into two groups - films my kids can watch and the ones that go into my basement that are not kid friendly.

Do you think half the people who will see Django Unchained have seen the original with Franco Nero?

I half kid and keep up the previous poster's humor to a point, but I do agree with the original poster. I used to frequent the Comic chat board, but it seems like the chat board system is gone and this has replaced it (I am returning to Ebay to clear out some of my collection as my "man cave" can't hold my movie collections, collectibles, and comics any more and I figure I might as well sell my duplicates)... but this does not seem to have the community of the chat boards of old. Sigh... I miss the rampant sarcasm I used to see on the Comic chat board... the fact that people would know you and joke with you and it felt like a community... this does not seem to feel that way to me.

Ah, well, back to cataloguing so I can post more stuff to sell tomorrow...

Thanks for letting me join the posting, guys... it was fun.

Many years ago this board used to be buzzing with topics, lively debate and thought provoking discussion.

But you see, movie sellers are by now, all a group of demoralized souls.  Years and Years of bootleggers stealing our movies, Ebay policy changes, such as fixed shipping price on DVD's that don't cover costs and the general turn to the internet for all movies has basically destroyed us.

So you see we have nothing really left to say.  Do you think owners of stores that sold black and white tv's back in the late 1960's got together and had sing alongs?

So now you know.

Popping in to drop a comment.

Regarding Star Wars, I saw all three original movies in the theater, and each one got better as they went along.

On the other hand, I didn't see any of the second trilogy.  I don't like prequels.

I liked the original Battlestar Galactice, but not the SYFY version.  (Too dark for me.)
