Hi everyone,
We're shortly going to announce a new feature called "My eBay for Guests", which essentially allows unregistered folks to watch items before registering (so they can become more familiar with eBay before actually signing up, for instance). Below is the announcement we're going to put up, and also some FAQs about the feature.
Have a good one!

***My eBay For Guests***
People who have not yet registered will now be able to watch up to 10 items in a very basic version of My eBay. They also can sign up for email reminders that will notify them a few hours prior to an item's ending (just like registered members).
Please note that this will not affect My eBay for registered members. Guests will have to register prior to bidding, listing, and accessing all other registration-required features. If they choose to register, their Watched items will be transferred to their regular My eBay automatically.
Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is “My eBay for Guests?” Don’t you need to be registered to use My eBay? My eBay for Guests allows unregistered users to watch items and (if you confirm your email address) receive Watch Reminder emails. You will still need to register to get full access to My eBay (as well to other areas like being able to bid, sell, save Favorites, and see My Messages).
2) I watched some items, but now I don’t see them in My eBay. Where did they go? If you are registered, you may have added the items to My eBay for Guests by accident (this can happen if you delete the cookies saved on your browser). To see if this is the case, go into My eBay after signing in and see if there is a “There are watched items in My eBay for Guests” message (see screenshot below).
If you see this message, follow these steps to transfer these watched listings into your regular My eBay:
- Click “sign out” in the header.
- Click “My eBay” in the header.
- Click on “I’m a Guest” on the sign in page instead of signing in.
- You will now be in My eBay for Guests.
- If the missing items are in My eBay for Guests, you can move these items to the registered My eBay by signing in from this page. Use the sign-in button shown below (not the sign-in in the header) to move the items over:
3) How do “guests” move items from My eBay for Guests into My eBay for registered members? There are three ways to migrate items.
- Register. When you register for eBay, all items in My eBay for Guests will be migrated over into your regular My eBay.
- Sign-in from My eBay for Guests. If you click on the sign-in button in My eBay for Guests, the items will be migrated into My eBay.
- Sign-in from the Guest Watch Confirmation on View Item. If you click on the sign-in button on the item page after adding a watched item to My eBay for Guests, that single item ONLY will be migrated into My eBay.
4) When I go to My eBay, I see this message: Items have been added from My eBay for Guests. What does this mean? When you sign-in from certain places on the site (see above), items in My eBay for Guests will be moved into My eBay.
5) Someone else uses eBay on my computer and they are not a registered eBay member. Will their watched items appear in my version of My eBay or vice-versa? If you are signed in when you watch items, your watched items will not appear in the “guest” version of My eBay. However, it is possible that if you delete your cookies, that you could watch items in “guest” mode without realizing it. In this case see question #3 to transfer these items into My eBay.
