I'm not sure if this will help any of you or not, but for the sake of trying I will tell you that I have had the same problem since I got back into Ebay recently and every time I try to contact an oversees seller I can't. I didn't figure this one out until tonight but it just so happens I was Facebooking and had an incognito window open in Google Chrome to log into two accounts at once. Well long story short I went to Ebay in the incognito window and tried to contact the seller. To my surprise it worked just fine in the incognito window. To get an incognito window open in Google Chrome, click the options wrench>new incognito window

Ebay used to have a "contact Sellet" feature. Now it's gone.

Borderline criminal:

Seller requires that I enter a phone number.  Not wishing to do so, I attempt to contact the seller but am sent to a FAQ page, which sends me to an external website, which is fishy, and a security risk to say the least.

I contact eBay, and try to explain this to the person in India, who sort of understands me, then tells me that the seller is a trusted seller on eBay, etc, and that if I want to contact them she can give me an e-mail address for them, but then the seller will get my personal information in the process.

I then ask the eBay rep to cancel the transaction, which they can't do.  Solution: I make up a fake phone number and pay for the damn item from this crappy seller, who gets my money, and eBay gets their cut.

I question the legality of all of this.  eBay is getting worse and worse all the time.  Somebody please clean up this mess.

In my experience it's not only US sellers who won't ship to Canada that eBay blocks us from contacting. It seems that there are SOME SELLERS CHOOSE NOT TO RECEIVE MESSAGES FROM BUYERS simply because they don't want to have to deal with questions! You can still buy from these sellers but you cannot communicate with them. eBay allows this option and therefore encourages the LACK OF COMMUNICATION.

eBay is slow as hell to change...I mean it took them years before they finally made it possible to actually PHONE AN EBAY REP!...and even then i takes about a dozen steps before you get to the place where you're given a number that requires a conformation code and is only usable within 15 minutes of making the the request to phone eBay.

How long would WALMART, TARGET, THE BAY, or any retail store last with THAT kind of phone policy?

But eBay gets away with it because...well...eBay is eBay...it specializes in SHADOW BOXING IN THE SHADOWS!

Hate to harp about this but the SITUATION GETS EVEN WORSE:

eBay allows me to BUY NOW from LOWPRICEMEMORYLTD

located in Jersey, United Kingdom...but then I cannot pay because the seller blocks payments from my location.

Then the seller can give you an UNPAID ITEM STRIKE for not paying!!!

Why doesn't eBay block me from even using the BUY NOW option since the seller won't sell or ship to my location?

If an item appears through a search I naturally assume they ship to my location and therefore i BID or BUY NOW, only to find out later that I've been caught in a trap...and traps are set by trappers, no?

EBAY does not care if a buyer is not satisfied after more than 60 days from purchase. It should be stated in BOLD everywhere before you make a purchase.

EBAY is not ensuring anything, it's just "trading platform".

You are on your own after 45 days from purchase.

You can not do a thing after 60 days from purchase.

I have found that the hard way.

Very unsatisfied. Seller used delays and he is smiling now.

the seller may not know they cannot recv questions...I just opened a new selling ID and questions were being refused (I got copies of this, so I wondered what was up) On my main selling ID I have no such problems. So I went to Site Preferences and sure enough....The box was defaulted to 'do not take questions from buyers'. Why in the world that would be a default setting I don't know. If your seller is relatively new this might be the case. Unfortunately if you can't contact him/her, you can't ask that they look into it

I'm having the same problem.

I just wanted to ask a question about the size of an item I want to bid on because the seller didn't put that in the description.  Ebay won't let me contact him.  I even tried to check "this is not about the item" box  but apparently (according to ebay) he's not answering any questions......even though he clearly states in his description that if you have any questions about the item to please contact him through ebay messages!

*sigh*

Seller's postage charges US$1.00 to Malaysia, I wanted to inform this seller, to up grade his  postage charges in his PayPal invoice to registered air mail (to Malaysia), as the item cost me US$100.00, but I just CAN`T contact the seller, try many days several times on using the `ask question' button, no way I can get the seller's email address, there are some eBay seller's setting that seller do not accept email even from the final buyer who have bought that item.  Finally I received non-paying feedback from this stupid seller.   I have to call all eBay sellers who do not care to answer buyers email - stupid sellers.     Where is the eBay Buyers protection policies ?
