I keep my home prepared at all times. I have pantries full of non-perishable foods. I have flashlights, batteries, water, a generator, outdoor grill which has capabilities of cooking beans, etc. on burner, a griddle area for pancakes, & all types of paper products. I also have water, juices, coffee, etc.
We live on 68 acres with a lot of wild game. We have a well for water. A big wood burning heater which also has a top area for putting a pot of beans on or soup. We also have two really large propane tanks which are always full.
I don't know if that is what you meant or not.
