Hi: The Penn Internationals are worth quite a bit. I am not sure how much, because I don't deal in them a lot. Monitor the listings & it will give you good ball park figures on the values. This is a good time to list reels, because it is spring time & fish are starting to hit. Your green Penns are very good reels with all metal gears. The green one's later turned into the Z series. They keep the same numbers, but they are black & all of the parts interchange (704 vs. 704Z). I would suggest on reels that you take 3 or 4 pictures of each one, showing all the way around the reel. They sell a lot on condition, & photos will save a lot of questions. Bob

What's going on? I'm trying to get into fly fishing but don't know what rods to look for and what the different sizes mean? Should I buy a high quality rod and reel from the beginning or are there beginner rods out there? Just wondering if anybody has any information that would help. Thanks.

I'm trying to find out about a fishing reel. I know it's old (60 years+) but not sure beyond that. It is a Brooklure or Brooklures 025. It's all metal except the handle pulls (these are on the spinner?) that look like the old type marbelized celluloid they used in the '20s and '30s. It also says patent applied for and made in USA. There is extra fancy etching on both outside ends. Anyone know anything about this. It was my Dad's but I don't know where he got it or when. I'm in my '60s and he had it when I was a little girl.....Judie

Can anyone tell me what a "leader box" is? I make
belt buckles from antiques and found a box with an
embossed fish on the front with embossed words Leader Box.
When I asked Google they directed me to this page.
Thanks,

Has anyone heard of Ellison Manufacturing of Dayton, Ohio? They made fishing tackle and hand-made hickory rods. I have a document signed by G O Ellison dated Aug 9, 1939. Does it have any value?

I'm trying to sell a new item on ebay that is truly a worthwhile purchase for fishermen let alone the fact it really works! Item# 7184606968. I expected sales to just takeoff but only a few have trickled in. I'm looking for opinions as to what I may be doing wrong or how to advertise it better.

Thank you,
Rick

I need some help, I inherited my dads fishing gear about 3 years ago. My husband has finally decided that he likes golf more than fishing. I am slowly selling his reels, rods, boat stuff etc. I have several Daiwa reels that I can't find completed listings on, so Im not sure if they are RARE thus more valuable. Or were they so common that every one has them thus no one lists them. Here goes, I have 2 Daiwa PT10x's one in good shape the other has lots of boat rash, and then a Daiwa PT15. They both say procaster on them. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks Wendy I created a new thread under outdoor sports also with the same question..

Hi Fishing Folks! I'm afraid I don't know pike from a pupfish, yes, I'm 'fishing challenged', so I have a question that I hope you can help me with...I have about 30+ fishing ties that I'd like to learn something about. Each one is in its own little box with its name written on a little piece of paper, e.g. Grannom, Gordon, Claret Quill, Cream Cahill, and my personal favorite, Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear, etc. Each box is labeled "Tied by Plummer, Toledo 475-2780". These are beautiful, little ties, and even though they're quite old, they've never been used and are in excellent condition. I love their designs and exquisite details!! I bought them at a flea market in Ohio, and the seller told me the person who tied them used to teach fly tying many years ago and has since passed on. Does anyone out there know anything about the man who tied these? I've done searches on Google and I'd never dreamed there would be so many folks named "Plummer" who are involved in fly fishing! (William Plummer, Wayne & Barbara Plummer, etc.) Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give me regarding these tiny treasures! Caren.

Hi I posted a question on the outdoor sports board, but haven't had any response to a question and thought perhaps you fishermen (and women) might be able to help me with identification of some fish-handled knives. A maker would be MOST helpful....or some sort of idea what I have here (even if it is a dime store find) -- OR even just tell me what kind of fish I've got on the handle....I'm clueless here....any help would be MOST appreicated! THANKS in advance for any help! sue g

Hello, I recently listed some patagonia wading boots. They are top of line boots, but they are not getting the attention they deserve. I was hoping someone would take a look at my listings and offer suggestions to help them attract more shoppers.

Also for those of you that live in the midwest and love to fly fish, but can't find trout locally, give stream smallmouth bass fly fishing a try (if you haven't already). It is an experience that will rival most trout fishing. It is defiantly worth a try.
