Potential Problem Buyer

Nov 5, 2009 7:40 PM
a buyer won 3 of my auctions and wanted to combine ship. this is not a problem but i noticed his user ID was familiar to me and i was wondering where i heard it? it was from these discussion boards! he is indeed a buyer from He// that i read about! i looked him up on toolhaus and he has given out 8 NEGS to sellers. i usually only combine ship certanl items that i sell so he wins 1 item then 2 more. the 1 item i usually dont combine ship but the other 2 i do because of item size. so he messages me after the auction asking me to cut him a break on shipping. i am afraid even with my combined discount he will still think it is to much by looking at the feedback he has given in the past.
i just want to get these transactions over and block him! i should have done it when i first saw his name on one of these boards.

JUST SAY NO!

Was there an offer of combined shipping in the original listings?
Did he contact you before bidding?
Will all three items fit in a Small Flat Rate Box?

If the answer to any of those questions is "No"... The answer to the bidders questions is also NO!

If I did my homework right you have 0 FB, 0 items for sale. If the PITA goes neg you'll have -1 pos.FB, your only FB will be neg and prob all 1's DSR (and don't think the PITA doesn't know it). I hate to say it but in this case I'd have say give the pyscho the break he wants then block him. Actually you can block him now but if he finds out it might trigger his beligerance. I think ebay should limit the % negs a buyer can give in, say, 6 mo.. If all they do is neg how is that a useful measure of seller performance???

i sell fishing stuff and i combine ship on lures only. it says that in my listing. well he wins 2 lure lots which amount to about 10 lures in there boxes. then he wins a fishing reel from me. he messaged me after the auctions were over. asking to give him a break on shipping and that he will be back for more stuff. well i don't want him to come back! i have to hope this all goes down well then block him as fast as i can! i combine ship on the lures but not the reel. he wants all of it put in with the reel which i can do. he did ask before the auctions were over but i was not at home at the time. missed the message by 15 minutes. i hope he doesnt turn into a PITA buyer! he has about 265 buys with 8 negs left.

Hi clayjo2009,

My suggestion is to put everything in 1 box, bring it to the PO & ship it Parcel Post (Don't tell buyer!) with DC & charge exact amount on invoice. They should pay before package arrives. This accomplishes 2 things. They can't complain about S&H fees as you charged exact amount and the shipping time will be fast because pkg. is moving before they pay.

Hope this helps!

PS Do not add to BBL until FeedBack left......

we already sent him an invoice honda. we took more then we usually take off for combined shipping and were gonna send it priority mail. i know for a fact you know who this guy is! because we talked about a bad experience another seller had with him. in fact i think he was on your buyers hall of shame link.that is a great idea that you provided. he said he was going to pay for the items today. he negged someone for charging 10 shipping then putting the item in a 4 dollar envelope. i will contact you and tell you who it is as i am not computer savy enough to post a link. thanks for your advice honda!

How do you let others know of a scam buyer? They have been buying, paying with CC thru PP they then cancel payment. They have been buying bunches in the last week and getting left good feedback, but never leave any, sounds fishy.

well the stuff is happening with this buyer already! i knew it! he paid and item was shipped with me giving him a nice combined shipping discount. now after we send he asks how big was the box? you never gave me a discount? i am a great buyer and if you change your combined shipping policy i will buy more! from you. you should do this that and this if you want my business! what a PITA BUYER! i knew he was trouble after i looked him up on toolhaus. and was ready for the crap to start! and it looks like the crap is happening now.i do not want to block him before he leaves feedback so i am thinking about my next coarse of action.
