Pretty much the same time line... except I didn't ship until the next morning.  I asked her about it, and she said it was exactly what she was looking for and just happened to be on computer at the time.

Bet you get a 5 on shpg., Mint!

So, Mint and Lynne, you think some kind of synchronicity, or ESP drew them to look for the auction when one was being listed, or were these both very popular items...or then there's the less interesting possibility of coincidence.

I'd prefer cash on the barrel-head, but a cat will do.

In my case, definitely an odd thing for me to be listing, and yes, pretty rare.   And again, yes, that is what she said.  It just popped up in front of her, like magic!  her exact words:  "exactly what i was looking for"

I wanted to be certain of details before I mentioned it.

The items were:  two sweaters handmade by the Cowichan Indians on an island off British Columbia.

OK, then. Now where is my quartz crystal. I'm gonna rinse it off and put it by the computer when I list or look for something.

Hahaaa....

Im guessing it was on his Saved Searches...there are others like it & 1 that is cheaper but I added 2 ingredient words to the listing that the others dont have.....the actual name of the character I was selling.

Plus using 80 cbharacters makes a huge difference

When genuine those retail new for $150 to $250.

What did you list them for?

I bought a womans small on ebay as a gift  for my wifes sisters birthday for $55.

Komo:  You are a wondermint.  Aren't you even curious about how two of these wound up in the Ozarks?  Best guess, someone on vacation brought them back and had no idea what to do with them.  And, the woman who bought them was a Southern Lady with a shop (forgot where, but in a large Southern City)..

Auction was in middle of a very hot summer day.  Odder and odder.  Anyhow, I remember I researched what I could, and priced them  about the same as what you paid.  It was more than two years ago, so I can't be certain.  They had tags on, brand new.

Re: Worlds Fastest Listing Sale?

I don't have that many items yet but I did have good luck recently. I sell sewing patterns and had a popular one that all four of mine sold out in less than 12 hours, the first one within an hour. I know that's not super fast but for sewing patterns that's kinda cool.

Back in the good ol days online auctions were a novelty and everyone wanted those interesting, unusual things they couldn't get anywhere else. I remember back in college my roomate and I would camp on the auction hoping to get that rare band poster or collectible. Part of it was just the thrill of winning!

@Lynne, you can have good luck with it if you know which to sell. I work at a fabric store so I pay attention to what's selling. Also, children's and baby-related patterns sell WAY better for the most part than women's clothing. I do searches for completed listings for pattern numbers I have a good feeling about and see if they're selling. Sometimes I notice something that's really going fast, like the new Fashion Star line. I don't just buy wholesale or large quantities, I research almost every pattern I put up. Sometimes it can be a bust but so far it's going pretty well overall.

I once had a person bid on an item BEFORE I listed it. It was this nice silver Delorean and the Buyer was some wild eyed crazy scientist.

If it sells that quickly, that usually means that it was priced too low.

I dont list items too low....but I bet the free shipping had something to do with it. This listing was the "researched" average ($39.99). http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Leonopteryx+&_sacat=0&_odkw=Leonopteryx++NA%27VI+TORUK&_ipg=100&_sadis=200&_adv=1%7C1&_skipfnorm=1&_sop=12&LH_SALE_CURRENCY=0&_osacat=0&_okw=%7C&_dmd=1&LH_Complete=1&_oexkw=%7C

Re: Worlds Fastest Listing Sale?

That's kinda what I was thinking, Betty. My search on "AVATAR Leonopteryx" brought up some others that were priced higher, but some that were priced the same.

rags, welcome to the PT forum!  I've thought about selling new patterns on here. JoAnn's has sales where patterns are really inexpensive, and for people who live nowhere near a JoAnns, eBay is probably it as far as being able to get them. The pattern companies don't sell patterns online except for a few styles (last I looked) and they are a lot more expensive.

The quickest any of my auctions sold was the time it took to shower, I came out & it was sold. It was some Chanel nail polish that had to be at least 10 years old. I kinda kicked myself for putting a BIN on it, because I suspect it would have gone higher. Oh well, the lady was thrilled!
