Practice Here!http://practiceposter.com
Click this link and visit a page that simulates eBay's forums and chats. You will be able to practice away without interrupting other forum conversations. You are welcome to post in this thread if you want a final test of your signature or image.
Feel free to create a new post/thread if you have a question that has not been addressed here.
We are happy to give you a hand.
How to add a PHOTO to the forums:
(siggie photos are added the same way)
Basic code format: <img src="http://www.yourhost.com/photo.jpg">
1. Resize your image small enough to fit in a post
(under 500 wide - this is 500 pixels wide):
2. Host your image online. Here are some quick hosts if you don't have one: http://tinypic.com http://imageshack.us
3. Locate the direct URL or address of your hosted photo. It starts with http, like this: http://www.yourhost.com/photo.jpg
4. Surround your photo URL with image codes, like this: <img src="http://www.yourhost.com/photo.jpg">
5. Post your code to a forum.
How to add an automatic SIGNATURE:
Click Settings in the upper right of any forum page and insert your code there.
If you use an image in your siggie, it should be under 220 wide by 50 high for this forum.
Other eBay forums may tolerate
a different size/shape like 100x100
or larger.
Use the photo codes shown above.
Remember, a siggie doesn't have to be image-based, it can be text that has various colors, fonts, or sizes. There are handy tools and "Quick Tips" for doing just that on the PracticePoster, so experiment until you see what you like.
If you create an automatic siggie, it will be appended to every post you make, so please be courteous in both size and content, per eBay's signature guidelines.
Your signature may link to another page on eBay (like your store or About ME page), but may not link offsite — so check your code to make sure you don't have image host links or other credit links in there.

How to post CODE Snips
While we discourage posting entire auctions or webpages to the forum, there IS a way to post code snips to the forums. We do it all the time on this HTML forum because it is essential to our assistance here.
Unfortunately, the forum preview option just isn't suited to this task, so the PracticePoster takes up the slack.
1. Paste your code into the PracticePoster and click the "dewebify" option to turn the code into HTML entities. The button looks like this < >
2. Preview the results. You will now see codes instead of a webpage.
3. If the codes appear as desired, copy the results and post back to the forum.
For larger codes, like auction templates and web pages, we encourage you to post your code to an online service like the http://PracticeBoard.com or http://PracticeCoder.com . You will receive a numbered URL code to bring back to the forum to share with others, who can then visit that page to view your entire code.

Some poetry...
I see the early glow
I hear you say hello
I watch the shadows fall
I don't see you at all
I see the autumn rain
falling on my window pane
I hear you say goodbye
I see a tear in your eye

Ah, Thanks Sadie
Beleive it or not I took some html classes and wrote some web pages, but that was over 10 years ago, it is true that if you don't use it you lose it.
All the things I have lost over the years, my mind is what I miss most ... lol
